Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding.Mahatma Gandhi

A wise statement and totally applicable to the political climate we are currently in. In my lifetime, I have never seen the levels of anger and intolerance exhibited now amongst the elected and the electorate. A statement that really very simply explains so much about why nothing is being accomplished. The left has never been able to reconcile the fact that President Trump was the choice of America. The rhetoric has devolved from that point to this unprecedented levels of anger and intolerance, preventing the left from understanding the American people, the rule of law, the jobs they were elected to perform, and right from wrong.

The constant outrage professed by the leftist politicians, media and Hollywood types, based on false narratives like collusion, obstruction and racism blinds them to a correct understanding of the truths in evidence to the rest of America’s thinking rational citizens. Political myopia endangers the future of America.

We could see there was no Russian collusion by the Trump team, but there was by the FBI and Hillary. That didn’t take a lot of looking to see. We could see that Judge Kavanaugh is a good man and the charges against him were false and politically motivated. We can clearly see the crisis on the border and the devastating effects of uneducated, unskilled, unvaccinated people pouring into the country bringing gang members, diseases, drugs into our towns and homes. We can see that letting criminals out of jail and refusing to prosecute crimes only re-victimizes the innocent. We can tell you that if you raise taxes to intolerable levels, we will move. We can see that politicians have allowed our cities to become drug infested, rat infested, homeless slums. We can see that the lack of support for law-enforcement has a hugely negative impact on communities and their safety as well as the safety of those officers who keep us safe.

The never-ending mantra of the left’s identity politics; the tedious use of the labels of racist, homophobe, misogynist, white supremacist and white nationalist is based on their anger and intolerance, not ours. The left’s entire political argument is based on emotional rhetoric rather than facts. The American people are not buying what they are selling. They think we are stupid and intimidated and needy, and they could not be more wrong.

The anger of the left is so in our face every day, as in the young people in front of Mitch McConnell’s home chanting horrible things and advocating for a brutal murder of this esteemed man. What do they know and understand about America, our history, our laws, and what makes us great? Their anger is fueled by the political rhetoric and they are a product of those irresponsible politicians and media that tell them they are entitled to your money, that our President and conservatives are racist. Their anger and intolerance prevents them from clear headed and logical thinking based on facts and nullifies any ability to develop an understanding of what those facts would reveal to a clear-thinking individual.

There is no correct understanding from Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jerry Nadler, Chuck Schumer and every one of the 2020 Democratic Presidential candidates who label and smear conservatives, and whose policies would destroy America. Their world is seen through prisms of anger and intolerance, of color and anti-Semitism, of greed and hatred of Donald Trump. They have no correct understanding to make decisions based on the true welfare of American citizens, because they cannot see through their distorted lenses of anger and intolerance, the proverbial beer goggles of politicians.

We, the voters who voted for our President, deserve clear eyed political leaders who work in our best interests as directed by we the people who articulated our wishes when we voted for this President. The distorted lenses through which Congress, federal and state, and the personal biases of these politicians based on those distortions have stopped forward movement in America that benefits the majority of Americans.

Today’s legislators focus on pinhole visions of what benefits small groups, like criminals, like illegals, gays, Muslims, and  transgenders, instead of the American people as a whole.

We need to see everyone as protected, not individual groups. We are all people under God and under the law and we should all have the same rights and the same responsibilities and the same due process, and no one should have more.

The statement by Mahatma Ghandi is so very simple, yet so very powerful. Anger and intolerance prevent a correct understanding and without a correct understanding of the problems a correct solution will never be implemented. No matter your position in life, this applies to everyone. If our elected leaders and our media could remove their funhouse goggles and try to serve all of their electorate, not just the radical few, we may be able to stop the downward spiral of ugliness and identity politics, the threats, the agendas that serve the few and not the many.

We as American citizens must vote with equally clear lenses which become clear by educating ourselves on the real agendas of the people running for office and the real consequences of electing people who destroy America bit by bit and remove our freedoms and our American way of life.

We must deny from office those whose campaigns are based on the few and not the many, and whose rhetoric speaks from anger and intolerance and whose answer to everything is to label someone else. We are tired of it and only we can change it because the heartbeat of American patriots is still vibrant and strong and we clearly see the fork in the road facing America and our future.
