Sergeant Michael Sugrue is a devoted member of law enforcement, beginning his career as an Air Force law-enforcement specialist. Through his many years in civilian law enforcement, Michael served with distinction. When he was called upon to take the ultimate action and was involved in the shooting death of a suspect, ⏤ his life began to crumble. Post-traumatic stress injury took a significant toll on his life. He knew he needed help, but his own administration failed him. His road to recovery without the support of the department he gave so much to ⏤ almost destroyed him.
Years later, he was led to Shauna “Doc” Springer, a Harvard-educated psychologist and one of the world’s leading experts on trauma as well as the best-selling author. Combining their knowledge, skills, and experience, They created “Relentless Courage Winning the Battle against Frontline Trauma.” A book dedicated to sharing the realities and hopefulness that can guide first responders through the trials of post-traumatic stress injury. In this episode of “The Voice For American Law Enforcement,” the authors share their journey with show host Randy Sutton.
