I have supported Vladimir Putin against having Ukraine part of NATO because NATO was a military alliance against the Soviet Union. NATO continued to become an alliance against Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union.

Purely from the point of view of a Russian patriot such as Putin, he would not allow either Belarus or Ukraine to become members of an alliance against Russia, thus threatening her security. His demand is most definitely not unreasonable.

John F. Kennedy was willing to go to a nuclear war with the Soviets when they put missiles in Cuba, 90 miles away from Florida.

There are two points of view in every conflict, and the neutral observer should study both and decide. I had sided with Putin’s point on NATO until he unleashed this hellish war.

For months he had over 150,000 troops with mechanized and artillery support, the likes of which had not been seen since the end of WWII in 1945. And now Putin has committed to an all-out invasion of Ukraine.

As calculating as he is, I was shocked that he invaded Ukraine without a prior warning. He had no reason to invade because the USA & EU were in his sights for months. He could have had them agree to his terms if only he gave them an ultimatum that, if Ukraine does not agree to his legitimate concerns by such a date, he will invade and leave the onus of the conflict upon Zelensky.

Unfortunately, he did not do so and has unleashed a war that will cause him to be ultimately removed from office by his own parliament because for Russia to redeem itself by stopping the war and vacating Ukraine, Putin cannot remain in power.

Suppose the war turns into a great carnage not only for Ukrainian civilians but also for Russian forces. In that case, the mood in Russia will turn against Putin especially if the Patriarch Kiril of the Russian Orthodox Church would add his voice against the war. Under these circumstances, Putin’s days will be numbered to a few more months.

This conflict has its silver lining because it has produced political, psychological, military, and economic changes in tectonic size.

Germany will be the dominant military, economic and political power in Europe for the first time, replacing the USA – especially under the incompetent Biden.

For the first time since the creation of the German Republic, Germany will spend on its military even more than the 2% agreed upon with the USA. Poland is intending to do the same. Others will most definitely follow. Ironically, this was precisely what Trump demanded from the EU, to which the treasonous and clueless Democrats accused him of being dictatorial and impolite to Europeans. The Europeans will attempt to be able to defend themselves without the USA if necessary.

Most other nations are coming to the same conclusion: they cannot depend for their security upon the current Biden administration of the USA. They must therefore gravitate elsewhere or arm themselves.

The new German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, visited Israel on Wednesday the 2nd of March and met with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who underlined their commitment to securing further peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

Therefore, this act is unheard of and is a first of its kind for a very new Chancellor to do. He made it clear that he views the security of Israel as extremely important to him and to Germany. I have absolutely no doubt that his visit was also selfish and two-pronged:

1  To modernize his armed forces (land and air), he needs Israel’s military technologies and expertise, which are second to none.

2  He most probably supported and discussed with Bennett, the EastMed oil and gas pipeline from Israel to Cyprus to Greece to Europe to diversify Germany’s energy sources. He will financially bless this project against the objections of the Biden administration, which grovels to the whims of Turkey’s Islamist dictator, Erdogan.

Many countries around the world will start rearming to mitigate being dependent on the USA. With the projected total abdication of the USA to the Mullahs of Iran, a nuclear arms race will also become a reality in the Middle East and other places, thus making the world even more dangerous than ever before. Moreover, the need for Israel to attack Iran is becoming more and more imperative every passing day.

With Russia being vilified, condemned, and punished drastically economically by most countries on Earth, maybe, just maybe, China may think twice about invading Taiwan and suffering such ignominy as Russia.

No matter how anyone looks at events in the world today, any fair-minded and logical person should come to the conclusion that these disasters would NOT have happened if Donald J. Trump was still president of the United States.

Wow Putin just did what the west should have done in the 1930’s and stopped the fascists in infancy. He deserves the peace prize!
