By now, more and more people are, thankfully, starting to realize that nothing much adds up about our “Corona” experience, and in particular, that our interventions consistently made things worse. Don’t believe me? Africa, with 6% vaccination, was over Covid long ago,...
Radical Progressives & the Death of Meritocracy in Education
The Biden administration needs to be called out for its unmerited and ridiculous attacks on the state of Florida and particularly on Florida’s remarkable governor, Ron DeSantis. As a Florida resident, I can attest to the beautiful freedom and liberties that Floridians enjoy every day because of this state’s Republican legislature and the Republican governor.
The Biden administration fully recognizes not only the electoral power of the 22 million liberty-loving Floridians, but they also acknowledge that Governor Ron DeSantis is an up-and-coming power they may have to deal with come 2024.
Governor DeSantis has come out in strong support of parents and parental decisions about whether students should wear masks during school this coming school year. This decision, of course, which is the only fair and rational position to take, is in direct opposition to mask loving Joe Biden’s mandate about masks and schools for the coming year.
Moreover, Governor DeSantis has made it clear to the Biden administration that before they go about pushing around sovereign states, Biden best tend to the border and the incredible numbers of Covid positive migrants crossing into the United States.
The second part of the show deals entirely with the growing controversy over the radical progressive left’s attacks on the nation’s 170 public exam high schools. These are schools of academic excellence that maintain high admission standards based on measurable, quantitative standards.
In other words, these schools select the brightest students with proven academic achievement from across a school district and put them through a rigorous four years of high-octane coursework.
Because, on average, Black and Hispanic students continue to underperform up to and through eighth grade, they’re not prepared to do well on standardized cognitive examinations of their critical thinking skills or their subject knowledge of math and reading comprehension.
Instead of Radical Race-driven Activists and Policymakers directing their efforts on closing the “achievement gap” early in Black and Hispanic students’ academic careers, they prefer aggressive political campaigns directed at closing the “racial gap” at the Exam Schools admission process!
Merit is race-blind. You’d think that any fool could see this. But nothing could be more noticeable than merit trumps race when it comes to professional sports.
If Radical Progressives forced the National Basketball Association to meet racial quotas, 60% of every NBA team would be white. Unquestionably, such a policy would mean that hundreds of super-performing Black players would no longer be playing professional basketball in America.
