More than 60% of Americans believe that biological males should not be participating in women’s sports, so let the Human Rights Watch and Gay Rights organizations file as many lawsuits as they want, bill SB 1028 is now the law, and it protects Florida women against the political left who uses sex, race, and religion to create chaos within the culture and lifestyle of American sports programs within high schools and colleges.

America’s favorite Governor, Florida’s very own, Ron DeSantis, is doing it again, setting the stage for the rest of the nation to follow as he signed SB 1028 on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, announcing “The Fairness in Women’s Sports Act.” (Senate Bill 1028 (2021) – The Florida Senate) This bill will send a message loud and clear in support of protecting women’s safety and integrity as this 46th Florida governor is morally leveling the playing field, and rightfully so.

Governor DeSantis states, “In Florida, girls are going to play girls sports, and boys are going to play boys sports.” He further elaborated, stating, “The bill that we’re doing today will ensure fairness for women athletes for years to come in the state of Florida. It says that athletic teams or sports that are designated for females are open to females, and we’re going to go based on biology, not based on ideology when we’re doing sports. The bill defines a student’s biological sex based on the student’s official birth certificate at the time of birth.”

Of course, there are those naysayers like Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried with her political left-wing Democrat stance, suggesting that Governor DeSantis is marginalizing an entire community by signing a heartless ban on transgender kids in sports. Here’s a newsflash for Nikki Fried and all who align with her politics. The Florida governor is protecting the rights of all the masses, not adhering to the moral deficits that the Obama years inflicted upon the masses through cultural decay targeting, once again, our children.

Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran also states for the record, “This issue is an issue of fundamental fairness. Recognizing gender differences is a far cry from discrimination; this is especially true in education, where major college athletics and the scholarships that go with it still delineate by gender. No one believes it would be fair for LeBron James to play in the WNBA. In Florida, we will do what’s right, and we won’t be cowed by pressure from woke corporations. They will not dictate the policies in Florida, not now, not ever. Florida will stand strong and protect women’s sports and opportunities.”

Bill SB 1028 applies the requirements to interscholastic, intercollegiate, intramural, or club athletic teams or sports that are sponsored by a public secondary school, high school, public college, or university institution. The bill also provides civil remedies for those who suffer harm by violation of the section of the law.

The Full Highlights of SB 1028 include:

Maintains opportunities for female athletes to demonstrate their strength, skills, and athletic abilities and to provide them with opportunities to obtain recognition and accolades, college scholarships, and numerous other long-term benefits that result from participating and competing in athletic endeavors. Strengthens educational opportunities for military families by allowing state universities to expand high-quality developmental laboratory schools to serve communities around military installations.

Paves innovative pathways for students to access industry certification and workforce education by allowing Florida College System and State University System institutions to sponsor charter schools to meet regional workforce demands.

Empowers students to pursue high-wage STEM professions by expanding access to the Florida Private Student Assistance Program grant award to include full-time certificate-seeking students at an aviation maintenance school.

Requires each public school to provide parents with information on the role swimming lessons and water safety education plays in saving lives, including free and reduced-cost options for swimming lessons and safety courses.

“As a father of two daughters, I want my girls, and every girl in Florida, to compete on an even playing field for the opportunities available to young women in sports.” – Governor Ron DeSantis.
