On December 8, 2021, I sat down with legendary podcaster Joe Rogan for the “Joe Rogan Experience,” and we engaged in a 3-hour discussion of COVID-19, therapeutics, vaccines, and the path forward. The interview was penetrating, and I stayed on point using scientific slides as a base which had been approved and shown at the annual meeting of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons in Pittsburgh, PA, October 2021.1
I sent the slides to Joe’s producer before the interview, as well as some key figures to show on the screen. After editing and release, the interview set new records for the JRE experience, with a reported > 40 million views by December 27, 2021. The transcript analysis revealed the most commonly used term in the interview was “monoclonal” antibodies, and much of the conversation was on therapeutics.
Rogan followed a few weeks later with Dr. Robert Malone, a preclinical scientist, expert on vaccines and their application to COVID-19. Dr. Malone has also appeared on the McCullough Report and other shows on the America Out Loud platform.2 Together, the McCullough and Malone interviews set off a backlash with comments and actions by many stakeholders and much of which was centered on vaccines.The accusations flew at Rogan like scud missiles and included him “spreading misinformation” and then quickly moved to his previous issues of the JRE and comments that could have been considered biased or discriminatory.
Many asked why the attack on the world’s greatest podcaster?What set off the maelstrom?It is because Rogan, through a string of interviews with Drs. Weinstein, Kory, McCullough, and Malone revealed medical truth.Rogan’s audience is younger and very connected to contemporary issues and, importantly, is unplugged from cable TV.
Now that it has been two months since the interview, I wanted to give McCullough Report listeners some insight and reaction to the interview and why it will become part of the historical timeline on pandemic response and public awareness to accurate information concerning therapeutics and vaccination. Also included are some brief clips with a related mention on the Jimmy Dore Show and with Dan Bongino of Fox News.
