On Monday, 84 cruise missiles launched from Iranian Drones and Long Range ballistics took out targets throughout Ukraine throughout the day in populated cities. This followed the Crimean bridge explosion that was attributed to Ukrainian forces. The headlines have told the world that Russia’s military was folding and weakened, with confidence fading in Putin. The show of force and tactical precision was a show to the world that Russia has the ability to attack on their terms and on their time.
The United States has responded by calling out the atrocities of war and the death of civilians caught in between. President Biden promised support for defense spending to assist Ukraine. As the world responds to this attack, we must pause and reflect on what we hope to accomplish. The American economy is struggling as conflicting reports emerged on the jobs market. The administration claims jobs are at an all-time high, but Bank of America is warning that 2023 will see the loss of over 165,000 jobs per month. With war on the horizon, can America afford it?
