This week I have covered stories that seem to have a negative impact on the mental perception of the world around us. Americans have processed the innocent murder of six lives by a trans terrorist. Parts of our country have experienced water contamination fears as several accidents created uncertainty. It can feel overwhelming to hear these stories each day.
I came home to record this show after playing in the school jazz concert. Music is a healer for me. Picking up my guitar and creating sound, contributing to an overall vision, is putting joy and meditation for others into the soul. Headlines were distracting me in regards to TikTok, the Pope being hospitalized, and more details about the Covenant murderer. I could not bring myself to do another show on this. I’m thinking my listeners could use some self-care too.
The show today is a reminder of things we all know. While it may sound as if I’m speaking from a place of having it all figured out, I join my listeners in needing to practice the topics I address today. I’m hopeful the topics we all know in our hearts will be helpful in providing each of us some food for thought today.
