Sure, Bin Laden is Bad, But Those Filthy MAGA People
Long ago, when Donald Trump was the host of Celebrity Apprentice on NBC, and a big donor to the Democratic Party, George W. Bush was the politician that the left loved to hate. There were catchphrases made like ‘Bush lied, People died.’ The media gave a grieving mother of a dead soldier who made it her life’s mission to destroy Bush’s round-the-clock coverage. Bush also galvanized me as a Republican. I defended Bush and even rang doorbells as a 17-year-old for the Forty-Third President of the United States. Try ringing doorbells for a Republican candidate in blue-state Massachusetts; you’re not exactly welcomed in with open arms.
I defended Bush when he was often called a ‘’War Criminal’’ by the left. I defended him when he oversaw the beginning of the economic collapse of 2007-09. I even defended him on the Iraq war and the WMD debacle. Most times, I would paint Bush as a CEO who depends on information from his men on the ground to make decisions. He simply formulated the data he received coming out of Iraq and made decisions on the invasion. I still think I was half-right. Many countries had intelligence and their suspicions about Saddam’s nuclear program in Iraq and said so. The CIA also had major suspicions. Something had to be done. I lauded Bush for it; I was a street-soldier for 43.
I can do that no longer. I am usually relieved when a politician reveals their true self to the world. Sandy (Alexandria) Cortez makes no bones about the fact she is a bonafide socialist. Ilhan Omar is open about her hatred of Jews and love of Sharia Law. George W. Bush revealed his true leanings to the world on Saturday in Shanksville, PA.
Bush showed the world he is nothing more than a despicable, laughable, swamp creature. You should be horrified that some politicians took the 20th-anniversary remembrance ceremonies of 9/11 to remind you that, yeah, Bin Laden was awful, but remember January 6th.
Bush invoked January 6th in his comments on the hallowed ground of Shanksville during the 9/11 ceremonies. In the flight path of the downed airliner, Bush made the following statement: ‘’Violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home,” “are children of the same foul spirit.” Osama Bin Laden, Mohammed Atta. No different than the guy who sent a snap-chat from Nancy Pelosi’s desk. Never mind, most of those Seventy-Five Million Trump voters Bush just compared to Islamic jihadi’s more than likely pulled the levers for Bush as well. Much like myself, these ‘’violent extremists’’ may have pounded the pavement for Bush as well. Trump voters were once Bush voters.
George W. Bush pulled off the docile, grandfatherly outer coating and revealed his true self. Nothing more than an establishment swamp creature who is more than happy to stomp anything out that threatens the status quo in DC. He is no better than Lindsey Graham, the alleged Republican senator from South Carolina who is far more interested in golfing with Joe Biden in Delaware than he is serving his constituents. Or Liz Cheney, who can be found fist-bumping Biden after Biden delivered an incredibly divisive speech aimed right at her voting base.
George W. Bush’s presidency was a total failure. The Iraq debacle. The total economic meltdown. The gas prices. I will no longer defend this man. I have banished him into the same space in which I regard Republican establishment creatures like Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney.
What Bush said is simply the talking points of the establishment. It should be telling where this is all going and where they are going to take aim. Make no mistake; YOU are now the new terrorist. Yes, you. The Trump supporter. Your crime? You don’t vote right. Politicians were telling you all weekend.
The full breadth of surveillance and intelligence that was once reserved for terrorists in middle earth is now aimed squarely at you. Bush has cozied up to the likes of Michelle and Barack Obama since leaving office in 2008. However, he has accomplished one thing for us: he has ensured that none of the seventy-five million Trump voters will ever vote for another Bush. We have a long memory, folks, and we have a tendency to hold grudges. History will not look fondly at the Bush presidency. There’s no chance I will be there to defend him, either.
