Fox News ran three articles over the past week that combine to illustrate the total ineptitude of the Biden Administration and the Democratic Leadership as a whole. The first was a poll (also reported by the Detroit Free Press) showing that a majority of Democrats do not believe the United States to be worth defending, and would flee the country if an invasion occurred.

The second story was that the Biden Administration released an intelligence article officially blaming the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, for ordering the assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The third article covered how Joe Biden may travel to Saudi Arabia to plead for more oil. Joe Biden may travel in person not because Saudi Arabia asked for a meeting or because Joe Biden thinks he has something to offer if he meets with the Saudis, but because President Biden has tried repeatedly to call Saudi Arabia’s leadership, and the Saudi Government has so little respect for President Biden that they will not even answer the phone.

If Joe Biden does fly to Saudi Arabia, he will earn a new nickname: Groveling Joe.

Imagine a Presidential Administration so dysfunctional that it releases an intelligence report that asserts – without any proof or any new information – that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia ordered the murder of a Saudi journalist in Turkey, while simultaneously trying to negotiate with Saudi Arabia for more oil. Either of those courses of action could make sense. Done at different times, BOTH courses of action could have made sense. Done together, however, these actions make no sense at all. If your intent is to get more oil, accusing the Crown Prince of the nation you want to negotiate with ⏤ of a war crime is not a very good negotiating tactic, and yet that is exactly what Joe Biden did.

As for the poll showing that a majority of Democrats do not believe our nation to be worth defending, the timing is fitting with a majority of Democrats also believing that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia should be punished for assassinating that journalist.

Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman

I’ve written many times about how the Democratic Leadership misleads its party to try to make them believe the United States is a bad place. That’s precisely why the majority of Democrats do not think our nation is worth defending. I’ve never written about the importance of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman until now.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was created in 1932, but the emergence of Al Saud (the House of Saud) as a political force occurred in 1744, when Muhammad bin Saud joined forces with a religious leader named Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab.

The House of Saud became the political leadership of this alliance, and the teachings of al-Wahhab (what became known as ‘Wahhabism’) became the sect of Islam the House of Saud followed. Once the House of Saud created the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, they began spreading Wahhabism throughout the Sunni world.

Wahhabism is an extreme, fundamentalist form of Islam that seeks to live out Muhammad’s teachings as perfectly as possible, and the House of Saud has spent billions spreading this extremism throughout the Sunni world.

Iran is at the center of what was once the Persian Empire, which was destroyed by Alexander the Great. The modern state of Iran was formed around 1500, when Ismail created the Safavid Empire.

The Safavid Empire ended when Pashtun rebels killed Sultan Husayn, in 1722, and in 1729, Nader Shah drove the Pashtuns out, creating the Afsharid Dynasty. Nader Shah was assassinated (but make a note of his last name), and in 1779, after a brief civil war, the Zand Dynasty emerged, led by Agha Muhammed Kahn.

Kahn died in 1779, leading to another civil war, until the Quajar Dynasty emerged in 1795. The Quajar Dynasty stayed in power until WWI.

The Ottoman Turks invaded North-Western Iran in 1914, committing the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1917, and the Assyrian Genocide of 1914-1920. Britain occupied Western Iran during WWI, and stayed until 1921.

The British supported a military coup in 1921, and Reza Kahn became Prime Minister of Iran. Reza Kahn made himself king in 1925, and assumed the name Reza Shah, establishing the Pahlavi Dynasty. The Shahs stayed in power until 1979 when the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini overthrew Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and set up the theocratic Islamic Republic of Iran.

The real problem preventing peace in the Middle East is not hatred of Israel, but religious extremism in Iran and Saudi Arabia. Israel merely inflamed this extremism.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia rejects Wahhabism, wanting to usher in a moderate Sunni world in which Islam is a choice people are free to make, and in which Islam strives to live side by side with other religions. He wants Sharia to be a personal code of conduct NOT enacted into law, and he wants Jihad to be a personal struggle to live by Sharia – NOT the struggle to force Sharia upon the rest of the planet.

The Saudi Crown Prince wants to turn Saudi Arabia into a moderate nation.

But the Ayatollahs still run Iran.

If there is ever to be peace in the Middle East, it will occur only when Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Iraq are all moderate countries, who are also allies of one another, and if Germany, France, and England can get along, there is hope for Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Iraq too.

But not as long as the Ayatollahs are in charge.

President Trump was building a coalition of Arab countries, signing peace deals with Israel, and unifying much of the Arab world against the Ayatollahs in Iran.

President Biden has squandered the anti-Iran alliance Trump was building, and is instead, rushing to give Iran any deal he can get them to sign. Biden is so eager to get an Iran deal that so far the greatest impediment to a deal is the belief in Iran that if they keep refusing to accept Biden’s offers, Biden will keep offering more.

In the meantime, Iran is still the center of Shiite extremism, and the largest contributor to Shiite terrorism.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, in the meantime, is working to stop spreading Whabbism throughout the Sunni world, and to take Sunni Islam out of what I would call a dark age.

As for the journalist the Crown Prince had assassinated – he was a Wahhabi zealot preaching extremism and hatred, and calling for the Crown Prince’s head. It was wrong to assassinate him, but at the same time, there is absolutely no reason the United States has to get involved.

The Crown Prince wants peace. That journalist wanted war. Trump was wise to give the Crown Prince a pass.

Joe Biden is not giving the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia a pass, but is instead strengthening the Ayatollahs of Iran against him.

Joe Biden’s ineptitude – his aligning with the Ayatollahs in Iran – may lead to war.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia is the best chance for true peace in the Middle East, and for healthy relations between the Middle East and the West that we will probably see in our lifetimes.

For some inexplicable reason the United States is determined to make Iran a nuclear power.
