Inscribed on a plaque on the Statue of Liberty, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” George Washington talked about the Sacred fires of Liberty. Videos out of Shanghai, China, have shown people crying and groaning on their balconies. Why? Because they have been locked down in their apartments, often without food or water. Other videos show drones flying across the city, broadcasting a message to suppress their soul’s desire for freedom.
While many feel for the people of that city, there are those in America who want us to do the same thing. Who thinks we should suppress our liberty and independence so they can tell us how to live our lives?
