Communist China must be thrilled with the Biden administration’s attack on America’s least expensive, most abundant, and most reliable energy sources. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) obviously knows, even if Joe Biden does not, that a nation’s national security is inseparable from the strength of its economy. And America’s current energy policies, driven by fear of “climate change,” is crippling the US economy. Current energy policies couldn’t be weakening us and strengthening our enemies more than if our enemies had designed them. Way to go, Joe!
To put all this in proper perspective, if a football field represents Earth’s atmosphere, where each yard line is one percent, then the human “carbon footprint” currently would be on the 1/184th of an inch line, about the same as the width of a human hair! Quadruple it, and you move all the way up to the 1/46th of an inch line!
Is this a threat to our existence? Or as, the CBC, Canada’s leftist state broadcaster, reported on Monday:
“World leaders and diplomats framed the fight against global warming as a battle for human survival during opening speeches at the COP27 climate summit in Egypt on Monday, with the head of the United Nations declaring a lack of progress so far had the world speeding down a ‘highway to hell.’”
The UN’s outrageous propaganda would be hilarious if it were not for the fact that the world is wasting over $1 billion USD every day on this fantasy and seriously weakening the west’s energy security in the process.
Can anyone still not see that current energy policies to deal with “climate change” are not designed to save the planet but are the excuse, the snake oil, the fear-fueled (now runaway) freight train taking us over an economic cliff?
Can we not see that the high price of fuel, and therefore everything else, has been deliberately manipulated for this purpose to force a transition away from fossil fuels to an irrational and dangerous dependence on renewable energy, already proven unreliable and incapable of replacing current demands? Such a transition would cripple our ability to defend ourselves, much to the delight of Chairman Xi and Vladimir Putin, of course.
The next time that annoying relative starts to berate America for not doing even more to “fight climate change,” just ask them:
- Who is helped by forcing us to buy energy from hostile dictatorships when 17 months ago we were net exporters and energy independent?
- Who has bought up most of the raw materials around the world to make batteries for electric cars now being promoted and subsidized on a massive scale?
- Who has been exempted from the (self-inflicted) economically crippling regulations limiting greenhouse gas emissions primarily on the US and western economies?
Emperor Xi’s China, of course.
So, exactly what is it that two generations have been indoctrinated to believe is an existential threat to life on Earth? The culprit, of course, is human-produced atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas emitted into the air by burning fossil fuel. This is our so-called “carbon footprint.”
Thankfully, greenhouse gases create something in the upper atmosphere called the greenhouse effect which keeps the Earth from freezing. And 97% of the greenhouse effect comes from clouds and water vapor, not CO2. The human “carbon footprint” is like a hair on a football field, but it must be drastically reduced, or we will all die, climate alarmists tell us. China, which produces more atmospheric CO2 than any other nation, is exempt under UN rules, of course. But the climate emergency drumbeat goes on. “The evidence is overwhelming.” “The science is settled.”
Is any science settled? Take medical science and COVID policy for example. It is obviously not settled but has been clearly and thoroughly politicized. But we are supposed to believe climate science is pure and objective as it tells us freedom loving, ambitious people burning fossil fuels on our way to and from work that only western economies are an existential threat? Really?
If climate science is so settled, and the evidence so overwhelming, then where is it? Don’t we have a right to see the measurable effect, if any, that human produced atmospheric CO2 has on Earth’s climate? A 1.2-degree Celsius warming since 1880 is too small to even notice in a human lifetime. The fact that evidence in support of the climate scare is rarely cited is evidence there isn’t any. Instead, all we hear from the climate fear-mongers are personal attacks and sweeping, unsubstantiated claims. If they had conclusive scientific evidence, they would cite it.
Before you get vaccinated, shouldn’t you check the vaccine’s history of effectiveness and side effects? Before you buy a house or car, shouldn’t you inspect or test drive it? Before we jettison the “evil” fossil fuel industry, the engine of prosperity which almost single handedly has raised living standards and life expectancy to historic levels worldwide, before we cripple our ability to defend ourselves in an increasingly dangerous world, all because of climate change, wouldn’t it make sense to find out if human-caused climate change is even happening? Shouldn’t we demand to see solid evidence, even a single piece of it, showing a measurable cause and effect between human produced atmospheric CO2 and Earth’s climate?
And let’s be clear what is evidence and what is not. Evidence is not two decades of declaring something a crisis. Evidence is not scary movies, or opinions dressed up in scientific sounding language, or the number of people who believe and repeat something. To be compelling, evidence must be:
- measurable
- reproducible
- independently verifiable, and
- conclusive.
It is time that those who are telling us we need to commit economic suicide to save the planet, be required, preferably under oath, to show any such evidence to support their claims. Until and unless they can, all of these self-destructive policies which are helping our enemies must stop! Lack of common sense is the real threat to our existence.
