The Dog Days of Summer
The Dog Days of Summer are upon us, and it’s getting hot and heavy in the news cycle.
First on fire for roasting is former President Barack Obama’s Hawaiian-themed birthday party, replete with a guest list of 400. The party, which took place on Martha’s Vineyard, was dripping with Hollywood elite from John Legend, his wife Chrissy Teigen, Tom Hanks, Don Cheadle, Bradly Cooper, Steven Spielberg, and Erykah Badu. Noticeably missing from the guest list, besides face mask, was President Joe Biden or any heavy-hitter Democrat politician, besides John Kerry and his gulf stream jet. So much for Climate Change.
Now it wouldn’t be Summer without a delicious discussion of the ever-popular Lollapalooza music festival. The event was in Chicago, where Mayor Lori Lightfoot held court with her maskless friends. Not one word from the media or Dr. Fauci of the event being a possible Covid super spreader, but they did have indigestion over the Sturgis Motorcycle Ride in South Dakota. And then there’s everyone’s favorite politician (at the moment), Rep. Cori Bush, who is down with defunding the police in crime-riddled black communities. Psst…she has her private security detail that’s costing taxpayers big dollars. Making things even hotter, “After Dark” nibbled briefly on the recent Denver Rockies Dinger word mishap and side dishes of other hot items making the news.
