There are between 11 and 15 key U.S.-funded biolabs in Ukraine, some of which store and conduct experiments with dangerous pathogens, including samples of Soviet-era bioweapons.

Nevertheless, so far, there is no evidence that those biolabs in Ukraine violated the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention or have produced offensive biological weapons.

I have read all the main, publicly-available information about them, including the documents submitted to the United Nations by Russia.

Like other similar critiques, Russia declares guilt by innuendo.

People need to understand that the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention allows for defensive research using dangerous pathogens.

Let’s use anthrax as an example.

It is not a violation of the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention, for example, to grow anthrax, conduct experiments on anthrax, or store anthrax.

I worked in a Biosafety Level-3 facility at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, Fort Detrick, Maryland.

In that facility, anthrax was grown in fermenters. Experiments were conducted with the anthrax bacteria and with its toxins. The anthrax was used to devise detection and identification systems and prepare medical treatment for and protection against anthrax infections, such as vaccines.

Various anthrax strains were stored at Fort Detrick for future experiments comparing different strains or to conduct forensic analysis of natural or man-made outbreaks of anthrax. That included samples of anthrax used by the Soviet Union to generate its biological weapons in order to prepare defensively for a potential attack.

All of that is allowed under the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention.

Those who say there is a thin line between defensive and offensive anthrax research are uninformed.

I can attest that there are distinct differences in the skills and methodologies needed for defensive and offensive anthrax research.

Defensive anthrax research is done with what we call “wet” anthrax, that is, anthrax in culture. Anthrax as a bioweapon has to be specially prepared and tested in a dry form as individual spores capable of widespread aerosol distribution. Wet anthrax is not a very effective bioweapon.

Unfortunately, the facts concerning the Ukraine biolabs have been obscured by propaganda from the United States, Russia, China, and the European Union, as well as efforts by news organizations and individuals to either downplay or exaggerate the facts.

The published activities of the Ukraine BSL-3 facilities focus on detection, identification, and storage of anthrax and other pathogens, activities very similar to what we did at Fort Detrick. There is nothing in any of the documents I have seen so far that would indicate weaponization or anything that would violate the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention.

Understandably, people assume the worst because the Biden regime lies about everything.

Now, was it a dumb decision and bad policy to set up those kinds of labs in Ukraine funded by the U.S. Defense Department? Perhaps. Would having such labs in Ukraine lead to rogue experiments like in Wuhan or leaks? Perhaps. But those are different questions.

Actually, what the Biden regime may be really trying to hide is Biden family corruption.

Hunter Biden’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca, had a stake in one of the prime contractors for the construction and renovations of the U.S.-funded biolabs in Ukraine, Black and Veatch.

Hunter Biden is also connected to the China-linked company, Metabiota, which, together with Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance and the USAID-funded University of California, Davis’ PREDICT program, were deeply involved with the Ukrainian biolabs, and, all of whom, have close collaborations with China.

Therefore, one should not discount the possibility that all of the information related to the activities conducted in the Ukrainian biolabs was finding its way to Beijing and, subsequently, to Moscow.

Ultimately, we may learn that the whole Ukrainian biolab program may have had less to do with bioweapons than a U.S. taxpayer-funded profit-making scheme for the corrupt Biden family and its friends.

What about the transportation of certain items? I appreciate your input on this. Yet I firmly believe it was for malicious purposes (which I understand is an unfortunate side of science) and to hide corruption. We are in for darl days my friend

Well done, Col. Sellin. Good summary. Hit key points. No blather. No overstatement. China in the loop. Scary.

I really appreciate the sober analysis, absence of hype, idetification of what you know and where you are speculating. I agree personally that it’s more Biden Family Corruption at the least.
I wonder: Who do you think will be getting the contracts for the rebuilding of Ukraine?

On June 11, 2020 Russia voiced its displeasure with dual-use American labs in Ukraine.

STATEMENT BY MR. ALEXANDER LUKASHEVICH, PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, AT THE 1271st MEETING OF THE OSCE PERMANENT COUNCIL’ —- https://www.osce.org>files>documents

One of the labs was probably The Interim Central Reference Laboratory in Odessa, Ukraine, that was built in 2010 as part of Dick Lugar Cooperative Threat Act.
“U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar applauded the opening of the Interim Central Reference Laboratory in Odessa, Ukraine, this week, announcing that it will be instrumental in researching dangerous pathogens used by bioterrorists.

The level-3 bio-safety lab, which is the first built under the expanded authority of the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction program, will be used to study anthrax, tularemia and Q fever as well as other dangerous pathogens.”—-in the article ‘Biolab opens in Ukraine’,   by Tina Redlup on June 18, 2010, https://web.archive.org/web/20110522081423/http://www.bioprepwatch.com/news/213421-biolab-opens-in-ukraine

The Shelkostantsiya laboratory outside of Kharkov was said to be run by U.S. military personnel, and alledgely created a deadly virus around 2016.

Many of the Ukranian labs study hantaviruses, in conjunction with American college epidemiology labs. The 2020 and 2021 papers below,

‘Prevalence of Hantaviruses Harbored by Murid Rodents in Northwestern Ukraine and Discovery of a Novel Puumala Virus Strain’, lists authors working for Black and Veatch Special Projects Corp., Kyiv, Ukraine; nesterova.olena,   Volyn Oblast Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Lutsk, Ukraine

“Cocirculation of Two Orthohantavirus Species in Small Mammals of the Northwestern Ukraine”,  Iryna Demchyshyna, Gregory  Glass, Oleksandra  Hluzd, Vira  Kutseva, and others ,

2Emerging Pathogens Institute and Department of Geography, University of Florida
3Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Biochemistry, The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, Tenn.

Hantaviruses are to Ukraine, what coronaviruses are to China. But according to a recent Russian Department of Defence posting, other viruses are being studied.

“Project UP-4, conducted with the participation of laboratories in Kiev, Kharkov, and Odessa, studied the possibility of the spread of dangerous infections through migrating birds; Project R-781reportedly studied bats as carriers of viral pathogens, including plague, leptospirosis, brucellosis, coronaviruses, and filoviruses” –—   https://libya360.wordpress.com/2022/03/12/behind-washingtons-denial-of-biowarfare-weapons-program-in-ukraine/

Still to be verified by the West. The following excerpt is from the Rhoda Wilson article at, https://libya360.wordpress.com/2022/03/18/us-company-metabiota-links-biolabs-in-africa-and-ukraine-to-the-pentagons-dtra/

“In 2017, the Serbian newspaper Pecat published an article “Why is the US turning Ukraine into a biological bomb?” The article states that from 2014 to 2017, 15 US military biological laboratories were built in Ukraine:
“They employ exclusively Americans, and they are financed entirely from the budget of the US Department of Defence. Local authorities have pledged not to interfere in their work. These military laboratories, where they are mainly engaged in the study and production of viruses and bacteria, are located in the following cities: Odessa, Vinnitsa, Uzhgorod, Lviv (three), Kharkov, Kyiv (three), Kherson, Ternopil. There are several such laboratories near Crimea and the Lugansk People’s Republic.”

These labs ‘may’ lead to destruction of Ukraine neutrality regarding NATO-Russian relations. January 17, 2017 Obama stated

“The United States announced a comprehensive $335 million FY16 bilateral security assistance package for Ukraine, bringing total committed U.S. security assistance to more than $600 million since 2014. The FY16 package includes bilateral support in three main areas:

  • Training:  350 U.S. personnel training up to five battalions of Ukrainian conventional forces and one battalion of special operations forces, while developing a long-term institutional training capacity.
  • Equipment:  including counter-artillery and counter-mortar radars, secure communications, training aids, logistics infrastructure and IT systems, tactical UAVs, and medical equipment.”—-     White House Fact Sheet

More destruction of Ukranian neutrality regarding Russian-Nato relations.  Setting aside the long running Russia-Ukraine war in the eastern Ukraine, this current war may be due to Obama-Joe Biden-Hunter Biden test of Putin’s resolve.
