Ever since the lie of “hands up don’t shoot” became part of the American lexicon in August of 2014, policing in America has become far more challenging than it ever was before. Hardly a day goes by where one doesn’t see a news report of a police officer being killed or wounded somewhere in America.
The steady drumbeat of lies and distortions about ‘police oppression’ of black people stemming from Ferguson has also resulted in the ongoing controversy of some players in the National Football League kneeling or raising defiant fists in the air during the playing of the National Anthem at football games.
Back during the Ferguson riots black players from the then St. Louis Rams professional football team ran into the stadium at the start of one game with their hands raised into the air, mimicking the “hands up don’t shoot” lie that was born out of the Ferguson unrest, and which was also mimicked by members of the Congressional Black Caucus and other Democrat politicians in Washington, D.C.
Black politicians and activists in America continue to perpetuate the lie of police oppression of black people when the statistics compiled and provided annually by the Federal Bureau of Investigation paint a different picture. Are there bad cops? Absolutely, as every profession has their bad apples. What is unique about police work is that good cops hate bad cops far more than anyone else does, and do their level best to remove them from their ranks once discovered. Bad cops paint the profession with a very broad brush and the good, decent police professionals suffer the consequences.
While it is a fact that black people make up a disproportionate percentage of America’s prison population compared to their percentage of the population overall, it’s also a fact that statistically black people commit far more crimes, which explains why more are in jail. And the percentage of crimes committed by black people against white people versus crimes committed by whites against blacks is hugely disproportionate.
Certainly there’s an argument to be made about socio-economic factors contributing to these statistics, but that is only part of the problem. The primary reason is irresponsible behavior and the destruction of the black family that can be traced back to the ‘Great Society’ programs of the Lyndon Johnson presidency. Former President Johnson is quoted during that time saying in private “we’ll have those (insert “N” word) voting Democrat for the next two hundred years”.
For decades since blacks for the most part have been party loyalists to the Democrats, even though the Democrats when in power have done little to help the black community achieve parity with the rest of America. Democrats always talk a good talk, but produce nothing other than hot air. Which brings us back to Ferguson, or as it is now called by many of the police officers who lived and suffered through that period of civil strife, ‘Ferganistan’.
Police across America have been under attack daily, many being injured and losing their lives as a result of what’s being called ‘the Ferganistan Effect’. It’s become standard now for many in the black underclass to resist or interfere with a lawful arrest of a black criminal suspect, refuse to comply with lawful police orders, and to riot in the streets over an obvious justified use of force by a police officer.
While Antifa under different names existed prior to the Ferguson riots, that terrorist organization – and an enemy of the state, has become emboldened as a result of what happened in Ferguson. It has grown under the encouragement of Democrat ‘leaders’, both past and present. And our society has suffered as a result. Nothing good came out of the Ferguson riots, and nothing good is going to come out of the Antifa riots.
Innocent people are being attacked simply for holding different values and beliefs from Antifa and other associated groups. One can no longer wear or display anything that differs from what Antifa approves.
In town squares and college campuses around the country statues of Confederate Civil War heroes have been demolished and torn down, reminiscent of something right out of George Orwell’s book ‘1984’. Most recently on the campus of the University of North Carolina the statue called ‘Silent Sam’ which depicted an anonymous soldier representing the valor and loss of life suffered by BOTH armies of the North and the South during the war, was torn from its pedestal prior to the opening of classes at the school for the Fall Semester.
As if these statues glorified slavery in any way instead of simply depicting historical figures from a very troubled time in our nation’s past. Certainly some soldiers in the south fought to preserve the institution of slavery, but far more served the Confederacy simply out of loyalty to their states, which they felt were being attacked by an abusive and oppressive federal government.
What has developed in our cities is an insurgency, an attempt to create chaos and anarchy and overthrow the duly elected government of the United States of America. It is past time for the Trump Administration’s Justice Department to officially declare Antifa as a terrorist organization with both domestic and international ties, and swoop in and lock them and their supporters up whenever and wherever they are found.
It’s also long past time to designate it a federal ‘hate crime’ to attack a police officer. And police need to be allowed to crack down harshly on the civil disobedience that was born out of the lies of ‘Ferganistan’.
