Today I am moderating a debate between two sides. This is a microcosm on display of our country – Progressive Left versus the Constitution, and how we host civil and productive conversations.
Paul Engel is a constitutional scholar and host of The Constitution Study here on the America Out Loud Network. He has been a guest of America Emboldened, and my audience loves him. He is the author of seven books related to the Constitution and has helped make our founding document accessible to all those who read and follow his show.
Lefty Lehman is my friend from college that has consistently kept his views throughout the years and is never afraid to admit to being a progressive communist. You know him from my shows where I bring him on to understand how the left thinks. We disagree on most topics, but he graciously took me up on my offer to model how two opposing sides can engage in conversation and has been a guest on several shows. He is a fan of Paul’s work and wanted to debate him and converse over the topics of the Constitution, Twitter Files, and Digital Rights.
The conversation and show today should be a great reminder to our listeners of the ability to think differently and engage in respectful dialogue that has the power to transform our understanding of our neighbors and celebrate our differences.
