The Political & Legal Implications of Indicting Trump | It was the indictment heard ‘round the world; DA Manhattan, Alvin Bragg may not be bragging so much if the Trump team goes on offense. Just saying! One of the best legal minds in the nation, Attorney Tom Renz, is here to discuss both the legal and political implications of these charges.
Donald Trump was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday. He is the first ex-president in U.S. history to be indicted. The office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been investigating the alleged hush money scandal for years. The purported payments include the $130,000 sum given to Stormy Daniels, plus the $150,000 given to former Playboy model Karen McDougal. (Fox News)
Former AG William Barr discusses the indictment with host Larry Kudlow. “It’s the epitome of the abuse of prosecutorial power to bring a case that would not be brought against anyone else. They are going after the man, not a crime. And the legal theory, frankly, is pathetically weak,” he argued.
“The claim is that [recording the Cohen reimbursements as legal payments] is false and therefore violated a misdemeanor statute in the first instance against false documents,” Barr said. “I actually don’t think that’s a valid claim in this case, because the statute actually requires that it be done with the intent to defraud.”
“They’re assuming that the payments were a campaign finance violation because they were effectively a contribution to the Trump campaign. I can tell you that’s not the law. I don’t think that’s how the Justice Department would view it,” Barr added. (Fox News)
Innocent Until Proven Guilty – the Hallmark of America’s Justice System | There was a time when innocent until proven guilty – was a thing in America! It was the Hallmark of America’s Justice System! Political Scientist, Prof. Carol Swain puts it all in context, the motives and the reactions in the case of – Get Trump, aka TDS. Why is this man such a threat to the system?
The presumption of innocence until proven guilty means the burden of proof is always on the government to satisfy that the defendant is guilty of the crime with which they are charged beyond a reasonable doubt. According to uscourts.gov, a cardinal principle of the justice system in the United States is that any person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
When it comes to Donald Trump – he has always been fighting the system to prove his innocence – there are reasons why Trump is always guilty.
Nancy Pelosi Tweet – The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.
xThis statement from the former Speaker of the House literally flips the justice system on its head.

Nashville vs. Ulvade School Shootings | Experts say police response in Nashville was ‘exact opposite’ to Uvalde – which saved countless lives. Why is that? Police Trainer & Expert, Lt. Joesph Pangaro breaks it all down. And rising crime is on trial in Portland, Oregon, as Cracker Barrel and Walmart close stores due to the spike in crime – how does this bode for the rest of America’s cities?
Experts say police response in Nashville was ‘exact opposite’ to Uvalde – Police officers were called to confront a mass killer at an American elementary school. But this time, unlike last spring in Uvalde, Tex., the officers at the Covenant School in Nashville rushed right in. Body-camera footage released Tuesday shows heavily armed officers methodically sweeping colorful classrooms and backpack-lined hallways until they find and kill the suspect — a police response experts described as “textbook.”
Police waited 77 minutes to confront the Uvalde shooter, in direct conflict with mainstream law-enforcement training for active-shooter situations since the Columbine High School mass killing in 1999. The Texas Tribune reported last week that some officers in Uvalde said they feared entering the school because they knew the gunman was armed with an AR-15.
The Nashville shooter, Audrey Hale, also was heavily armed, with three guns, two of them assault-type weapons, according to Nashville police. The school was locked down and its hallways deserted when police found Hale alone on the second floor, according to the footage released Tuesday. (WP)
