What country is this? Are we a Nation of Laws under the Constitution or a nation of lawlessness? Do we honor God’s foundation or the whims of men seeking power and control over the people? What is the role of the Chaplains Corps in the US Military? Is it to provide religious support to the troops facing combat and other stressors? Or is it to serve some “spiritual readiness” agenda to make a better “weapon of war” out of the human beings who serve in the Armed Forces?
There are ominous trends in the military to remake the Chaplains Corps into something that was never intended and has never been a part of our longstanding tradition of a non-combatant religious support Corps in each branch of our Armed Forces.
Current DoD directives are changing the Chaplain Corps into pseudo-psychologists rather than chaplains to bring hope and support to the people called to carry out the mission, not the mission itself. These change policies are not putting people first; they are putting the utility of the person first. The chaplain’s role is to affirm the inherent worth of the individual worth of the person, not as a means to an end but simply as an individual human being created in the image of God.
DoD is shifting “spirituality” into a “new age” pop psychology self-help program. It is not focused on helping people develop a personal relationship with their Creator. As Chaplain Lewis said, “My job as a chaplain is to help my soldiers connect with the God of their faith, whatever that faith may be, and even if I don’t agree with their faith.”
America, keep in mind that those in the United States Military take a solemn Oath to defend the United States Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Yet top DoD officials and top command of ALL branches of the military have instituted a “shadow policy” to engage in blanket denials of religious accommodation exemption requests for the experimental COVID shots. This is a massive violation of both federal law and the Uniformed Code of Military Justice.
Our program discusses the threats to undermine religious liberty for all of us through the eyes of two military chaplains who have been serving in two different branches of the US Armed Forces on the front lines in combat settings for over two decades. Our guests today freely express their personal opinions, and do not speak for the Department of Defense or their branch of service. They are giving voice to hundreds of other faithful chaplains who have been silenced for their efforts to speak out and share with the American people the truth about the damage to our religious freedom by top military leadership.
The absolute unalienable freedom to worship as one chooses is a fundamental right secured by the United States Constitution – for ALL Americans. Those core rights are in no way waived when one volunteers for military service. The opposite has been true since George Washington first led the Army of the American colonies against the British in the first American Revolution against tyranny.
The problems facing us all in the fight for religious liberty are complex and have infiltrated nearly every institution in America. Hope is not lost, however, and we have the Biblical assurance that the gates of hell shall not prevail. People from all segments of society and all around the military are standing up and fighting for religious freedom.
We hope that you will be encouraged by the example of Chaplains America and Lewis as they stand for the religious freedom of all who serve. They are not alone; dozens of chaplains have joined together from many faith backgrounds to stand up for religious liberty and filed suit against the DoD for what has been blatant discrimination against those with religious beliefs.
Chaplain Lewis and Chaplain America are willing to stand for their beliefs and the beliefs as others and fight so that future generations will continue to enjoy religious liberty. They hope to inspire others to stand for religious freedom before it is lost to the global tyranny taking hold across America and the world.
