While every American has some level of intolerance, history is showing us that the number of those who are truly intolerant seems to be growing. Sure, most Americans do not tolerate rape, child abuse, murder, etc. But it seems more and more of us are unwilling to tolerate differences that do not infringe on the rights of others. From those who will not tolerate Christmas, the idea that a black man committed a hoax, or that there was corruption in the 2020 presidential election, the number of people who will not tolerate a differing position seems to be growing. When intolerance grows, liberty declines. And while some will claim the moral high ground, what they are really saying is, “You do not have the right to think differently.” That is not only where liberty dies, but the truth as well.
