What do I think about the January 6 Committee’s recommendation to the DOJ to prosecute Trump for sparking an insurrection?
First off, I think Trump deserves criticism for January 6.
Trump did nothing wrong in his speech. Telling supporters to peacefully protest while questioning the integrity of the vote – that was perfectly justified.
Telling Mike Pence not to certify the result was not justified. Congress can refuse to certify the result, but Mike Pence had no authority to do so.
Trump could also have told protestors to go home sooner than he did, after they began to enter the Capitol.
But what did Trump do that was criminal on, or in relation to, January 6?
Is questioning the integrity of an election illegal? No, and in fact, the last Presidential Election Democrats lost and did not widely question the integrity of was in 1988 when George H W Bush (the father of George W Bush) defeated Michael Dukakis. I am 51, and I was not old enough to vote in that election, so unless you are older than me, you have never voted in a Presidential Election Democrats lost and then accepted the results of.
If attacking the integrity of elections is illegal, throw Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Al Gore, and hundreds of other Democrats in prison with Trump, because they did it too. Repeatedly.
But Democrats do not consider it illegal when they do it – and that one fact tells you everything you need to know.
As for the insurrection on January 6, according to the FBI, there was none. It was a spontaneous uprising, and all but 12 people were charged with nothing more than trespassing, after being held without charges for entirely too long.
Twelve members of the Proud Boys apparently did plan something along the lines of an insurrection, and they are being tried accordingly, but Trump had no involvement with that.
As for incitement, is Maxine Waters going to be Trump’s bunkmate? How about Kamala Harris, or any of the hundreds of other prominent Democrats who incited violence during the Trump Administration? According to the January 6 Committee, trespassing in the Capitol is a major offense. Do you know what the same people do not consider an offense? Trying to burn the Capitol down.
Those who called rampant arson in the Capitol and around the country ‘mostly peaceful’ for four years should sit this one out.
I am in the awkward position where Trump supporters sometimes criticize me for not supporting Trump, and where those who do not like Trump criticize me for defending Trump against meritless attacks, such as that from the January 6 Committee.
What I would like to see is Trump suing the government for allowing the January 6 Committee. On what grounds, you ask?
How about because Nancy Pelosi did not allow the Republicans in Congress to choose their members?
How about because only two of the members were Republicans – and both were hand-picked by Nancy Pelosi specifically because they were fervently anti-Trump?
How about because the Republicans were not allowed to call witnesses?
How about because the Republicans were not allowed to cross-examine witnesses?
Never before in the history of our country has a Congressional Committee been set up as such an obvious sham as to deny due process and create a predetermined result. The January 6 Committee was a true fascist first for our nation.
And I mean REAL fascism – I’m not just throwing words out like those on that committee do.
In short, Trump should not be charged with a crime in relation to January 6 because, although his performance related to that day was less than satisfactory, he did nothing illegal, and this is supposed to be a nation where such things matter.
Trying to throw someone in jail because you dislike their politics – is that really the nation you want to live in? That is what the January 6 Committee is trying to do, and if you support them, you are an idiot and an un-American fascist, just as the members of that committee are and just as Nancy Pelosi is.
What is the more significant threat to our Republic:
1) Trump on January 6, or
2) The FBI paying Twitter $2 million to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story, influencing the last Presidential Election?
What was on that laptop?
Evidence of Joe Biden and his family doing everything Democrats spent four years accusing Trump and his family of doing.
The FBI does not give a rat’s ass about any of the supposed crimes Trump has been accused of, as if they did care about actual crimes, they might take note of some of the evidence against Joe Biden and his family.
The FBI no longer investigates crimes to prosecute those who commit them. Now it investigates people to see if the FBI can find any grounds to prosecute them on. And not all people – just the ones the Democrats do not like, such as the parents of school-age children.
It was never about justice. It was always about control. For all his faults, Trump wanted to give you more control over your own life, as does DeSantis, and the majority of Republicans (the exceptions are the Republicans who are getting rich fleecing the system).
The Democrats want to control your life.
And the corrupt Republicans? They just want money and are happy to sell you out to get it.
When one party shows as conclusively as the DNC has that they do not give a rat’s ass about justice – and they show that they have the backing of corporate America, the media, big tech, and the administrative state in controlling narratives to keep control over you – why on EARTH would you ever trust them to run an honest election?
Do Democrats cheat? Based on how little faith they show in the American people, of course, they do. Does anyone here honestly believe that Democrats trust the American people with choosing our leaders?!?
Democrats seek to control us, and doing so, of course, involves controlling the outcomes of elections.
It is easier to control the outcomes of statewide elections than it is to control the outcomes of more local elections, which is why in 2022, Democrats kept the Senate but lost the House.
This is also how Joe Biden won the most votes in American history while losing the most counties anyone has lost since Michael Dukakis (who was blown out).
If we have learned anything from the Twitter Files, it is that the system is far more rigged than any of us thought.
And now the powers that be want to suppress the Twitter Files.
If you are a conservative, of course, you are upset at the revelations coming from the Twitter Files, but if you are an independent or a Democrat, ask yourself if the nation, the powers that be, are forcing down our collective throats against our collective will, is really the nation you want to live in.
Maybe – just maybe – enough patriotic Americans will be shaken awake by these revelations to demand that our government starts to follow the Constitution again.
We have now tried tyranny, and it is not working.

He didn’t know what was happening. He told them in his speech to be peaceful and that they were all going to walk to the Capitol together. He didn’t carry a megaphone with him did he? There were FBI perpetrators already there and ready to do what they did to blame it all on Trump supporters. WE all know the truth. We all know the insurrection was planned by Pelosi and she was the one who would not allow national guard. We ALL KNOW THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN IN 2020 AND AGAIN IN 2022. Instead of critizing Trump, why don’t advocate to have Biden and Harris thrown out of office and install Trump who is our rightful President. We all know the democrats are not patriots of our beloved USA. They are purposely destroying it. Enough. We are sick of the whole bunch of criminals in Washington.
So if the Vice president can’t change/question the electoral brought forward from states how come they (democrats) are trying to pass a law trying to change the law?? Riddle me that!! Just asking. Doesn’t sound right to try and pass a law that supposedly doesn’t exist. Idk
The Vice President has the same powers over election certification that the VP has over the Senate. The VP has the gavel, recognizes speakers, and manages the meeting. The decision on whether or not to certify the results rests with the joint session of Congress though – not the VP. The VP can call a vote not to certify if someone calls for one and someone else seconds it, but the Congress votes on that – the VP does not get to make that decision on his or her own.
Also note that Congress CAN refuse to certify an election, which is a threat to fraudulent elections. What the Dems want to do is to strip Congress of that power, making the final act of oversight a completely ceremonious role.
