Many voters don’t have the same views on crime and inflation as Republicans. They also have different opinions on cultural issues like transgender, same-sex marriage, and abortion. These differences don’t come as a surprise to anyone. Still, what is surprising, if Republicans expect to win elections in the future, they had better find a way to position themselves on these issues.
Christopher Tremoglie of the Washington Examiner joined the hosts of After Dark to discuss the midterm election. Based on election results, Tremoglie wrote a commentary for the Examiner in which he said, “There’s an ideological problem that Republicans have to acknowledge in the country, and it surrounds the fact that about half of the population doesn’t identify with Conservatism or Republicanism. This is an even harder pill to swallow.”
Tremoglie believes it will be hard for Republicans to win future elections if nearly half of voters support “progressive platforms.”
