The spavined leadership of the Democrat party has apparently settled its leadership problems by all, not so happily, agreeing to support the Nancy Pelosi as leader and, for the second time, as Speaker of the House of Representatives as well. It should be an interesting two years.
The media now tells us of all the changes that Pelosi promises to enact to restore Obama’s legacy and return the country into Marxist hands, logically to proceed with the final destruction of our great America. Lacking any affirmative indication from the laughable Mueller investigation that could be used to impeach Trump for colliding with the Russians, they will resort to their new found role in enacting legislation to make the changes they so desperately desire.
The only problem is, that Senate remains in Mitch McConnell hands and he will table any such silly legislation. Should something slip by, the veto pen of the President will kill it off. For the Democrats, I predict the next two years will be an exercise in hair pulling frustration, not from Republicans but from Trump. Pelosi’s entire agenda will be to investigate this, subpoena that and make unsubstantiated claims the media will use as “Breaking News,” more propaganda that signifies nothing” while the new Bernie Sanders Socialists will also be nipping at her heels.
I wonder how Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh will react, and Trump as well, when the democrats attempt to traduce the character of Justice Kavanaugh once again? Will the Democrats dig up more skanky women that Kavanaugh may have molested? Will the GOP resist these spurious allegations or sit quietly while the manufactured press outrage will clog the airways with political nonsense?
The Democrats will try to restart Obama’s Climate Change narrative because it’s one of the issues Obama talks about publicly now. They will deny Trump funding for the wall, although most has already been approved, and they will continue to introduce legislation the opens the border to the thousands of illegals invaders even now swarming our border trying to crash in, and, restoring the failed Obamacare healthcare scheme, by over using medicare.
In the meantime, President Trump, who obviously loves what he’s doing, will continue to tweak the media, laughing while the Progressives dance to his tune. He trolls the media and they don’t get it but, when they start squalling again, he twists their tail the harder. Witness the Jim Acosta fiasco. The next couple of years will be interesting to be sure.
What turned the tables in Pelosi’s favor when stiff opposition seem lined up against her? Well, their was no other candidate who could do the job. None, at all, at least any willing to take on the job. One such capable Democrat congressman, Brian Higgins of New York, tried to challenge Pelosi. His reputation is based on his leadership on the issue of achieving quality and affordable health care for all Americans. He offered a Medicare buy-in idea to build on the Affordable Care Act. One of Pelosi’s schemes is “working together” (bipartisanship) “to lower the cost of health care for hard-working families and raise their paychecks by building infrastructure of America, which is also an important issue to Congressman Higgins.” With that, Higgins said he would support Pelosi.
Also, Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) who announced she was backing Pelosi on Tuesday, originally entertained the notion of challenging Pelosi for Speaker. That died when a piece of unhappy news about her supporting a murderer came out. With Fudge’s dropping out, all serious opposition to Pelosi collapsed and Nancy will be Speaker. Her on-coming dementia might get in the way eventually, but, there it is. There’s nothing for it! Fudge and most of the others will keep their offices but I suspect Ocasio-Cortez and the other Young Turks, will be found deep in the basement.
Pelosi wins through a mixture of political ploys by deal making, and arm-twisting (threats) and committee assignment promises when needed. That’s politics. As Pelosi’s momentum in her party grows, only she can become her worst enemy. If the newbies haven’t figured that out and started groveling at her feet begging forgiveness as yet, they have no hope for anything except to vote as they’re told.
Higgins said he will support Pelosi after she agreed to support two of his favorite legislative schemes particularly his legislation that lowers the Medicare enrollment age. Oh my! How expensive will that become? Pelosi cut a deal with Fudge to reinstate a House Administration Committee panel overseeing elections with Fudge as chairwoman. Some of the “New Turks” the Bernie Sanders socialists of the anti-Pelosi cabal changed their positions, but not all.
Higgins said a few were considering cutting deals with Pelosi and that it would be the smart move. But, will they stand firm in their opposition or will Pelosi be forced to beg the GOP for enough votes to advance her to the Speakers job? Good question That! The vote comes up on January 3rd.
The next two years will be instructive to the Conservative base who harbor extreme doubts about GOP enthusiasm to confront the Marxism that has become the Democrat Party. Expect the #never Trumpers, especially John Kasich, the forth place GOP candidate in the 2016 primaries, to crank up his propaganda machine to full force to help us fall out of love with Donald Trump Remember, Trump is the only Chief Executive who has challenged the status quo of everything and is Making America Great Again. Image: (Wilfredo Lee / Associated Press)
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!
