An economy based on wind and solar energy, fueled by air and wokeness, is a disaster getting ready to happen. And those who predicted it were shouted down, censored, threatened, and silenced.

The day was winding down, and all across America, people were ending their workday, sooner on the east coast than on the west coast. And as the day began to lead into the evening, weary workers were driving their electric cars home from their jobs. Things had gotten closer to what had been normal before the pandemic, and more people were required to return to their jobs, now that the fear of catching the dreaded COVID-19 was pretty much behind them. The government had urged – no, mandated – that they buy the new electric cars. And so, people lined up to buy their electric cars in order to save the planet.

Now it was summer, and the temperature was high. There was a heat wave across the country, and the thermometers read anywhere from the high 80s to over 100 in the center of the country. Going home slowly through the rush hour traffic, the thought of a cool summer meal in an air-conditioned room, the few favorite programs on television, then the news, and a good night’s sleep out of the oppressive heat – it sounded wonderful.

Then, finally, pulling into the driveway, plugged the car into the charging port, and home at last.

It started on the east coast, where the sunset first. First, the lights went on, and people plugged in their cars and turned on their air conditioners. And then the lights went out, the power went off, the cooling air conditioners shut down, the streets went dark, and there was an eery silence. Then slowly, as the sun continued to set across the country, the lights went out in Ohio, Texas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Nevada, and California. And the country’s power system shut down.

What happened?

It’s simple. And it was predictable.

As the political power brokers, elected by a mindlessly woke public in a badly flawed election, forced their green new deal on us, they promoted electric cars and demonized traditional sources of energy. They supported the building of vast wind farms and solar arrays, but they ignored the essential backbone of all the new technologies, the power grid that distributes the electricity to the new demand for electricity – for the charging stations, and for the large amount of energy that the wind turbines require to operate — the burden of dramatically increased electric consumption.

Take, for example, a single 100-turbine, off-shore wind farm. It requires almost two million barrels of fuel just to power the ships delivering the turbines to the construction sites. And that says nothing about the energy needed to construct the turbines or the ongoing need for electricity to keep the turbines turning.

An economy based on wind and solar energy, fueled by air and wokeness, was never going to work.

This is not rocket science, people.

When demand exceeds supply, the system begins to fail. And the supply chain that is supposed to deliver power to fill the electrical needs of more than three hundred million people was bound to fail.

California has been facing brown-outs and systemic power failures for years, and every year the demand gets greater. Now, with the government demanding that we eschew the gasoline-powered engine, and buy electric cars and trucks, without simultaneously making a massive reconstruction of our power grid, the system has no alternative but to fail.

When our schools stopped teaching critical thinking, when our children became guinea pigs for woke dogma and social experimentation, when logic became old-fashioned and history rewritten became the vision of the future, our country turned down a path that was doomed to catastrophic failure.

In less than two years, the Biden administration has led a war against America that can only lead to our failure as a country and as a leader in any world.

The nights the lights went out… will only be the beginning.
