Whether you like rap music or not, an important development that should encourage all thinking conservatives has occurred in the genre in the past few years. It is the meteoric rise of independent rap musician Tom MacDonald to superstar status. MacDonald is not afraid to attack extreme “woke” thinking head-on in his music videos, Brainwashed being an outstanding example. In Brainwashed, which has accumulated 17 million views, 652,000 “likes,” and over 64,500 comments, the Canadian rapper tells us:

Fake news, fake woke, distract, and divide
You’re either right or you’re left or you’re black or you’re white

White privilege getting amplified to reinforce division
It convinces white people that they’re favored by their skin
And black people getting angry
‘Cause they’re told they’re treated different
So the conflict is between us and never with the system

Let’s just have the conversation
Not every liberal is dumb, not all Republicans are racist
The government wants everybody fighting with their neighbors
‘Cause they know that if we get along, we’ll probably go against ’em

MacDonald then lists the nine steps world elites use to promote their agenda. He raps (note especially steps four, five, six, and nine):

Step one, train the people only to consume
Step two, infiltrate adults with the news
Step three, indoctrinate the children through the schools
And the music and the apps on the phones that they use

Step four, separate the right from the left
Step five, separate the white from the black
Step six, separate the rich from the poor
Use religion and equality to separate ’em more

Step seven, fabricate a problem made of lies
Step eight, put it on the news every night
Step nine, when people start to fight and divide
Take control, this is called situational design

Instinctively, most rational people recognize that MacDonald is right. After all, Ben Franklin desperately wanted the new nation to avoid the intense political divide of the old waring kingdoms of Europe. He promoted the idea that people should work together for the benefit of the country and would be heartbroken were he to witness how partisan the US has become in recent decades.

But how did America come to this abysmal and dangerous situation, and how can we fix it?

A good answer is well laid out in the essential new book by constitutionalist and author Steven E. Maikoski. The book’s full title is “The Real Constitution and its real enemies – How the Right vs. Left dialog is a weapon being used to destroy our republic. How to fight it.” Everyone should read it. To whet your appetite, here are some of the highlights.

Like MacDonald, Maikoski hits the reader right between the eyes, starting chapter 1, “Why Our Republic Is Dying:”

“The Democrats are fundamentally transforming our nation by using a plan that is so clever that the conservatives do not recognize their compliance with the poisonous design. Their tactic is brilliant. They have us arguing over the political left and right, conservative versus liberal, tolerance, intolerance, rights, race, civil rights or privileges, benefits, and fairness while they engage in a continual drone that we are a democracy instead of a republic.

“The bickering has directed our attention to party politics instead of working from our constitutional foundation, which is allowing our government’s decay into fascism, communism, or something worse.”

Wow! Maikoski and MacDonald are certainly on the same wavelength. While MacDonald gets listeners, especially millions of young people, judging by the comments after Brainwashed and his other videos, riled up, and that is important if the next generation is to fix the situation if we don’t, Maikoski leads the reader to understand why American politics has become so distorted and how to fix it. It is that the US political system and even the judiciary have strayed so far from using the Constitution as their baseline that anyone who tries to base policy on its interpretation is labeled as being a right-wing extremist.

But this makes no sense whatsoever. The Constitution should be the center point against which political views are based. After all, the Constitution is the foundation of all American law, so it should also be the foundation of all political measurements.

Maikoski writes:

“But the Democrats do not want the Constitution honored as such, because they oppose its design; all their politics reveal this. So, their dialogue purposefully exiles it to the right wing, where the placement alone dishonors our foundation of government. It’s like a founding stepfather, put in a position where it is easy to ignore, criticize, or malign.”

“By taking our Constitution away from the center and moving it to the right wing, our nation’s foundation of law becomes a fringe document, extreme, out of the mainstream, disrespected and easily attacked.”

The net result is that, by resetting the center, the Dems have enabled negative portrayals of Constitutionists, referring to them as extremists and giving them strange labels, such as alt-right wingers, neo-cons, etc. This leads to the Democrats getting away with associating any political movement they want, even fascism, with conservative thought.

Besides a broad disrespect for both the Constitution and its supporters, Maikosi tells us that the Democrat’s approach is resulting in increasing disrespect for the rule of law and its enforcement officers at every level in America. Criminals have been turned into heroes and police into villains “as the Democrats tolerate (possibly promote) riots, looting, bedlam and other law-breaking by their so-called victims.”

MacDonald ends his rap music video, Brainwashed:

They can’t stop us, ’cause we’re ready to fight
Try to brainwash us, but we won’t let freedom die
The whole world’s brainwashed
(Everybody pick a team, start a riot in the streets)
The whole world’s brainwashed
(It’s us against them, it ain’t you against me)

Let’s hope it won’t be necessary for there to be riots in the streets against the corruption in “The System,” as MacDonald calls it, before more people wake up to the overwhelming brainwashing that has occurred. As part of that awakening, everyone needs to understand why this happened and how to fix it. In that regard, The Real Constitution and its real enemies,” by Steven Maikoski, may very well be the most important book you read in 2023.

Author Steven Maikoski will be my guest this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm ET on The Other Side of the Story on America Out Loud Talk Radio to discuss this issue in depth. Don’t miss it!
