Senator Ted Cruz made a terrible mistake by calling the January 6 mostly peaceful protest a “terrorist attack.” He knew he had made a mistake by the time he left his Senate committee hearing and checked social media. His phone was likely blowing up with friends asking what he was thinking. Then, he made it worse by trying to explain it all away the next night on Tucker Carlson’s show. Instead of explaining it away, he had the most popular host in America call him a liar to his face.

It was calculated, and his calculations were apparently off. Or were they? On this episode of The J.D. Rucker Political Report, I dove into the issue and why I believe he not only intended to say what he said, but that he was prompted to do so by nefarious forces working against America’s best interest.

First, let’s get something out of the way immediately. Ted Cruz is the most precise politician of the modern era. He doesn’t say anything in prepared statements without knowing exactly what he intends to convey, and even in off-the-cuff remarks, he pulls from a vast internal library of practiced talking points. This was a Senate committee hearing about how to prevent another January 6 event from happening, so we know that this was prepared.

Some have speculated about what he was trying to accomplish. I don’t think he was trying to accomplish anything for himself, at least not by saying what he said. Instead, I believe he was either bribed (likely) or blackmailed into doing the bidding of the Republican Establishment, and more specifically, the GOPe mega-donors who support RINOs and hate President Trump.

By “bribed,” I’m not saying he was paid off. He was bribed with the promise that if he invokes the word “terrorist” and steers the conversation the way they want it steered, then they would back him for the 2024 presidential nomination after they get Trump out of the way. What they didn’t tell him, or at least what he didn’t expect, is that he essentially ended any hope of being the nominee in the foreseeable future by causing such a stir with his words.

It’s conspicuous that he said it twice. I think that was a prerequisite of the demands made of him. They needed to get one of the most conservative lawmakers on Capitol Hill to echo the “bipartisan” talking point that January 6 was really, really bad. That will go along with others pointing the finger at Trump for all of it occurring. They want him out of the way, and they used Ted Cruz to try to make it happen.

In the second half of the show, I dove into The Liberty Daily and some of the outstanding sources we use to populate the conservative alternative to Drudge Report. Some of them you’ll know, others you will hopefully find as new to you.

We have a hard enough time fighting the leftists. The GOPe in the mushy middle is another force trying to prevent American from being great again, and Ted Cruz is now embroiled in their machinations.

I don’t care why he did it. This is not a game of inches…it’s my trench and their trench…and he just changed trenches long enough he will never be welcome in mine again. See you at the primaries…

You are correct as far as you go, but it is much worse. Cruz demonstrated that he is one of the Republicans that was in on “it” We all know Mueller couldn’t have happened without Republican help. We all know the stolen election couldn’t have happened without Republican help. And we all know that J6 could not have happened without Republican help. Cruz proved to me that he was part of the help. He should be (figuratively) dead to all Republican patriots.

Grow up. Shall I take you on a tour of the stupid things Trump has said?
Cruz may be right. There some terrorists there that day. How about Ray Epps? or the Antifa types in disguise, etc.

It is impossible to fight the “left” if you cannot get through the firewall on the “right.” ie. John McCain

Read the comments and you will see if you care to that he didn’t say who was making the attack. He said that everyone who broke the law should be prosecuted, and I agree. That includes all the plants and informers and undercover people who were stirring the pot.

For me this confirms that God puts people in power for whatever reason He sees fit. Looks like Cruz is out of the line up.

so you are essentially saying that he wasn’t trying to accomplish anything for himself by putting himself in the front position as the nominee for President. Seriously? Sounds like a blatant contradiction.

Cruz had pretty much established himself as a stalwart conservative. Now, after what he said, he’s irredeemable.

As a savvy poster said ” He stepped on his d**k “. Everything he accomplished down the tubes; if he would have only kept his yap shut.

Whatever the reasoning, the result was validating Pelosi’s J6 witch hunt. The jerk might as well have shook Cheney’s hand. I wouldn’t put it past the gop to ask the two to run 2024.

I’m shocked 😲!! You played a Pence card and your true colors bled through. Played another wild card.. I’m done. Did we see the SEA of people present at the rally? If they wanted to cause a real insurrection they could’ve easily did it but the majority didn’t TED.

Ted Cruz has an over an 82% rating on Conservative review. That gives him a B rating. Not bad for a politician.
You just hate Ted Cruz because you’re most likely a typical Trump supporter that hate anybody who dare question Trump’s spewtations..
Shall I give you all a walk through of the stupid things to come out of Trump’s pie hole?
Starting with his heavy support for the fake vaccine. Don’t give me none of your crap.
If more people started to support Ted Cruz’s initiatives, instead of waiting for him to fail, as he goes it alone most of the time, so people like you can mock him and call him names when he does fail, he might get something accomplished. And then call him a RINO when he does.
Besides, Ted Cruz has accomplished much despite it all. But slavering idiots like you are too F-ing lazy to find out, nor even care.
For your education. https://www.tedcruz.org/34-cruz-legislative-measures-enacted/
Just to remind you. He led the Jan 6 effort in trying to block Bidens win
Currently He’s trying to overturn the student vaccine mandate.
Currently He’s brought forth a bill that would force Biden to impose sanctions against the Russian pipeline.
Currently He’s trying also to toss out vaccine mandates for children.
Plus currently He’s managed to tick off every Democrat and RINO by demanding that Biden be impeached.

Let’s remember that on J6 Ted Cruz was actively challenging the election results, taking the lead among a very small group of others. I think he made a mistake. He’s not establishment… he was fighting the establishment LONG before Trump ran for president.
