The Scientific Method is one of the greatest inventions of humankind. It is responsible for the development of modern science underpinning technological advances that have taken our world from one dominated by superstition, violence, and deprivation to one which welcomes open debate, peace, and a world of plenty. Rational Wiki puts it well:
“At the core of modern scientific practice method is the idea that the value of a hypothesis, theory, or concept is best determined by its ability to make falsifiable predictions that one can test against empirical reality.”
But the Scientific Method is now at risk of being completely derailed by postmodern thinkers who reject the fundamentals of the Enlightenment. Instead of comparing their theories of how the world works with real observational evidence, and then changing their theories to match the data, they change the data to match their theories. This is not the evidence-based decision-making governments boast about following. It is decision-based evidence-making, a wholly dishonest approach.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the field of climate change. In our program this week, we discuss this problem with climate, energy, and policy expert, Virginia-based Ken Haapala. For the past twelve years, Ken has been Vice President, then President of The Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP). SEPP is a non-profit 501(c) 3 educational organization founded in 1990 by atmospheric physicist Dr. S. Fred Singer. SEPP strives to clarify the diverse problems facing the planet and, where necessary, arrive at effective, cost-conscious solutions.
Ken writes:
“… for years, SEPP has stated that the best physical evidence, over forty years of atmospheric temperature trends, where the greenhouse effect occurs, show that the globe is not warming dangerously…Carbon dioxide will not cause dangerous warming, and the greenhouse effect is not increasing significantly. Governments are fighting an enemy they do not understand.”
Join Dr. Jay Lehr, Tom Harris, and guest Ken Haapala in this week’s episode of The Other Side of the Story to learn what observational evidence really says about climate change and how we must fight back against those who would destroy the scientific method on which our survival depends.

Thank goodness there are still scientists that believe in sharing the truth of facts and their hypothesis. Thank you and please know you have people that appreciate you and your efforts.
