And just like that, Kamala Harris finally made it to the border, sort of. After learning that former President Donald Trump would be going to the southern border, Vice President Harris immediately appeared in El Paso, Texas, for her border wall photo op. The only problem, she didn’t go near the actual border. Not only that, she didn’t stay long at all in El Paso. But that minor detail didn’t stop the left-wing media from heralding her appearance, as some on the right frowned on it. Congressional Candidate Irene Armendariz-Jackson, told “After Dark With Rob and Andrew” she is glad the vice president came but leery that her coming just for a photo opportunity, will do very little to stop border crossings. She also called out her opponent, Veronica Escobar, for calling El Paso the new Ellis Island. The candidate said Escobar was pandering to voters as Democrats always do, and she challenged her opponent to a debate that she has yet to accept.

Rubin Young, Congressional Candidate for Florida’s 23rd District, joins “After Dark With Rob and Andrew” for the second half of the show to share his thoughts on the condominium collapse in Miami-Dade County. He said the horrible accident reminds him of 9/11, and his heart goes out to the families whose loved ones lived in the condo. It’s been a week since the collapse, and still, there are no solid answers. Having some knowledge of inspecting buildings, Young said he learned that the building had received many notices that it was not up to building standards and isn’t certain why the city or elected officials like Debbie Wasserman Schultz didn’t do anything about it. Rubin said he did not want to make the matter political but questions the judgment of officials in charge.

Irene Armendariz-Jackson is of Mexican descent. She is a lifelong El Paso resident with deep roots in both El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. Her parents were Mexican immigrants who became naturalized citizens of the United States. Irene said she learned from them the values of faith, strong family ties, and hard work. She has been married for twenty-five years to a United States Navy veteran, who is also a border patrol officer for twenty-three years. Armendariz-Jackson is a realtor and small business owner. She and her husband have three children and three grandchildren.
