With the recent leak of a possible United States Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade, the left has succeeded in attacking the last bastion of our democracy. Of all things held sacred and secure, the US Supreme Court is the last institution we would have expected to be breached by a leak. Yet it happened. After hundreds of years of decisions being made in secrecy by nine justices, the actions of one person has thrown the court into turmoil. It comes as no surprise this leak possibly came from someone on the left. And already, the liberal media is heralding the action of the unknown person as a defender of women’s rights.
The hosts of “After Dark” questions the motive of the leaker. They don’t necessarily believe the courts’ decision was leaked to bring attention to the justices possibly overturning Roe v. Wade. After all, for some time, it was expected the courts (which now leans conservative) would possibly overturn the 50-year-old abortion ruling sending it back to states to legislate. The hosts believe it was leaked to mobilize the left for the upcoming November elections. Democrats are aware that polling shows them losing badly, and this leak is just what they need to instill fear in their base to get them to the polls.
