Supply chain problems are the frequent headlines for CNN and Fox these days. Guess what? The supply chain doesn’t have a problem. The supply chain works fine. The problem is the government interfering with the supply chain so that it can’t function. The problem is old Soviet-style Central Planning of the economy. As usual, some Central Government agency imposes rules & regulations that create a problem, then announces that more government rules and regulations are the solution. Then repeat in an endless cycle until the economy chokes and dies.

Free Market = Decentralized Decisions

In a free market, shortages sort themselves out quickly. The decentralized pull of market demand puts goods and services where they are needed. Think of automobile traffic flow: with a few simple traffic rules, millions drive every day and get where they need to go. Millions of drivers making millions of individual decisions hundreds of times a day each: yield, stop, turn.

Government Control = Centralized Decision Making

What if those millions of drivers had to wait for some government traffic controller to tell them when to yield, when to stop or when to turn hundreds of times a day? The time waiting to be told when to turn etc. would slow traffic to a crawl, and traffic jams would be all day, every day.

Root Cause of Port Bottleneck? California Regulations!

The latest bottleneck in the supply chain is the hundreds of container ships waiting to be unloaded in West Coast ports like Los Angeles and San Diego. The mainstream media tell us the cause is a shortage of truck drivers.

Now we find out that there ARE enough drivers (for the Ports, at least). The real cause is the State of California imposing an emissions standard on trucks in the name of climate change. Only trucks made since 2011 meet the California standard. That shuts out half the trucks currently operating in the United States. California won’t allow half of the available trucks to enter the ports to pick up the containers. Result? Sixty-two ships waiting to unload at Los Angeles and Long Beach reports The Guardian. Jerry Oakley posts on Twitter:

The NEWS says the California port situation is caused by a driver shortage. Not so fast: It is in part caused by a California Truck Ban which says all trucks must be 2011 or newer and a law called AB 5 which prohibits Owner Operators.

Why prohibit Owner Operators? They aren’t unionized. Why does California want unionized truck drivers? The unions make big contributions to the Democratic Party.

How to Cause Soviet-Era Shortages in the USA

  • Pay workers to stay home on overly generous unemployment benefits
  • Reduce workers further by requiring companies to fire the unvaccinated
  • Fewer workers equal fewer goods and services made = empty store shelves and shortages

In the former Soviet Union, the cynical joke among workers was, “They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work.” There were perpetual shortages, so Soviet workers had nothing to buy with their money besides basic food and clothing.

We Now Live in Biden’s USSR: Union of Socialist Shortage Repetitions

In Joe Biden’s USSR (Union of Socialist Shortage Repetitions), the new joke is, “They pay us to stay home, but there is less on store shelves to buy with our stay-home pay.” First one shortage, then another. Then repeat.

What is the End-Game of Shortages?

A return to WWII-era government-issued ration cards.

  • You can’t buy food without government permission (the ration card).
  • The government won’t give you a ration card without vaccination (for your own good).
  • Therefore, get vaccinated, or the government will starve you out.

In the next repetition of this Totalitarian Government control of your life, the sequence will broaden out to everything you do.

  • You can’t buy food without government permission (the ration card).
  • The government won’t give you a ration card unless you do as you’re told by the government.
  • Therefore, do as you’re told, or the government will starve you out.

Uncle Joe Biden & Fellow Travelers will decide who is allowed to have a job (the vaccinated) and who gets a ration card (obedient little comrades).

Accidental? Or Planned?

Now, you may say I’m a conspiracy theorist for thinking the shortages are part of a plan. BUT… even if the shortages were not planned, they are certainly made worse by the policies of the Biden administration. AND… even if the shortages were not planned, what do you want to bet that the Biden administration has and will take advantage of them to broaden their power over the American people? Anyone?

What to Do?

>  Vote against any political candidate who wants to “solve problems” using government power and money. They will end up making it worse.

>  For any voter proposition or new law or regulation, ask, “Does this increase government’s power?” If the answer is yes, then oppose it.

>  Stop expecting government to solve your problems. Government only makes it worse. Start voluntary groups to solve problems. Start a business to fill the need.

Vote against totalitarianism? Hahaha, Good one. Wouldn’t a totalitarian have the vote mechanism fixed as well? It appears they do. So voting isn’t a real solution. The stoppage of work and purchases is perhaps a better path.

Thank you, Mr. McCarthy — this has helped me understand the etiology of the problem. Only the right truckers will be allowed to carry cargo. It seems the American people will be the ones who will suffer from shortages. California appears to becoming a communist state. Perhaps Kamala Harris was not joking when she said we will be begging her for a loaf of bread. God help our nation

The last time I checked the entire USA is just as capitalist as it can be. Joe Biden and his administration (and Congress) are in no way anything but pro-corporate sock puppets, and that is true of California’s ruling elite as well. This has nothing to do with the worker’s revolution in Russia which happened in 1917, and the USA (that is us) reversed it in the 1990’s, much to the pain and loss of the Russian people, as we seem to do a lot.
