Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Today, truth seems to be in pretty short supply. If we want to know the truth, we cannot sit back and wait for it to drop into our laps. We must search for it, filter through the noise and agendas, then apply that truth to our lives. If you live your life letting someone else tell you what the truth is, you are not a free citizen; you are a subject to your “truth-teller.” When you search out and test ideas, when you let the facts inform your opinion rather than the other way around, you are free to live in the real world. And that is the power of the truth.
