The US Military and the Tar Baby Syndrome

Why does our military demonstrate its incompetence on a cyclical basis of every ten to twenty years? It’s usually when Liberals take control of the government. WWII was the last time our military, with its allies, really beat the crap out of its enemies and set about genuine nation-building. After that, our military was allowed to atrophy. Since then, they have been called upon frequently, to fight and here we entered a period of endlessly facing yesterday’s threats. Korea ended in an armistice, an unfinished problem still facing us today, by the way. Vietnam ended in a mishmash of political nonsense that finally outraged our citizenry and demoralized our military, resulting in a complete loss of interest,⏤the end result being a humiliating pullout.

A good, honorable Christian man⏤bless his heart, Jimmy Carter incompetently launched a failed rescue attempt of Americans held hostage by Iranian Islamic fanatics after he politically fumbled away an American friendly Iran to a new and dangerous world enemy, radical Islam! That act emboldened dictators in Syria and Iraq to test our mettle. Our military recovered and Desert Storm, a brilliantly executed, thoroughly thought out plan to expel Iraqi invaders from small, but oil-rich Kuwait, lasted 100 hours and showed that America’s military was formidable.

It restored American’s belief in its military capability because it was a highly successful campaign made up of mostly volunteers, and then the “Tar Baby Syndrome” kicked in. We got stuck there!

For those who don’t know, briefly, the Tar Baby comes from the tales of Uncle Remus, an anthology from the Southern Plantation era about successfully living with your neighbors. It used animals for examples and focused on a smart-assed rabbit outfoxing a singularly inept fox at every point except once when that Fox set a cunning trap knowing Brer Rabbits arrogance about his abilities. Brer Fox planted a tar baby image of a person along a footpath Brer Rabbit was certain to tread. The inanimate tar baby failed to respond to Brer Rabbit as he passed and said: “Hello” to it, a social affront in Southern culture. In his anger, Brer rabbit struck the unresponsive tar baby, becoming entrapped in its goo until finally, Brer Fox had him at his mercy.

After 9/11, we decided our military should remove Saddam Hussain (he was the easiest target) for good and restore Iraq to its people as a democratic country. We did, and US coalition forces swept Iraq’s military off the map, captured its dictator, and restored peace and tranquility. But we failed to understand who the real enemy was.

We proved we could defeat big army’s with tanks, planes, and artillery and we assumed we could defeat the small combative Islamic warrior cells that sprang up, but we found ourselves firmly mired in the goo of that “Tar Baby” leaving us endlessly battered in middle-east wars over oil, democracy, and prestige. Not only did we ignore the threat of Islam but we misjudged the irrevocable determination of their faith to prevail over us infidels.

Afghanistan today, mere days after Biden and his government of nincompoop Generals who inexplicably acquiesced to Joe Biden’s political promise to pull out at once, a promise already initiated by Donald Trump, did so ‘at once’ without thought or planning leaving America again prostate at the feet of Islamic warriors who never took their eye off their goal. One Afghan warrior once prophetically said: “America has the watches; we have the time.”

Given the lack of political and military leadership in Joe Biden’s government, is it any wonder America once again stands humiliated before the world?

Joe Biden alone abandoned our allies, our citizens, and our duties and responsibilities to our mission. What can our measure of success possibly be? Woke generals ordering CRT nonsense, transgenders in the ranks, LGBTQ officers in drag ordering safe-sex training to its military volunteers? We can do better than that! We must do better than that, or we’re totally sunk as a nation! Who could possibly vote for a Democrat again, ever?

Remember, freedom is the goal; the Constitution is the only way. Now go get ’em!

Exposing Russia as a Military Fraud, Is China Next?

Exposing Russia as a Military Fraud, Is China Next?

If we had looked closely in those intervening years, we could have seen the clues of their demise. Many in my field (CE/CI) did, but the world had changed. Politicians facing the prospective loss of political control through fear-mongering of something ⏤ Russia then and China now ⏤ limited any real responses that could have achieved a safe world with Russia in it…

Take a Look at the Positive Side of Anarchy

Take a Look at the Positive Side of Anarchy

The only way to achieve liberty and peace is to restore law and order. And the only way to restore law and order is to literally crush the forces of evil. When that begins to happen, we do actually see the positive side of tyranny and anarchy. Conflict is a bedfellow of oppression. Therefore we must end the conflict and, in doing so, end the tyranny. Here’s the positive side of this war…

It’s a LONG-HAUL with COVID-19

The context is that about 50% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 develop post-COVID symptoms. Severe outpatients also are affected. Characteristic symptoms include headache, hearing loss, tinnitus, loss of olfactory function, sleep disturbance, muscle aches, weakness, fatigue, and chest or abdominal pain…

Be the One.

Be the One.

Be the one — no longer willing to huddle together in the helpless band — the one who dares to join the fight. Another will follow you and then another, and in a flash of time, that bleeding hulk of our nation — once the great light of liberty to the world, now barely flickering — will rise again to throw off the wolves like it has done before, sending them scurrying for safety…

Major Medical Mystery: Why Some People Despite Exposure Don’t Get COVID

Major Medical Mystery: Why Some People Despite Exposure Don’t Get COVID

A small fraction of Americans have escaped COVID infection. CDC uses a figure of 60% for those infected, while the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington says that 76% have been infected. The remainder may have escaped exposure or been exposed but escaped infection. The latter people are the subject of the medical mystery…

Correcting America’s Course Back to the Constitutional Rule of Law

Correcting America’s Course Back to the Constitutional Rule of Law

The US Constitution must scrupulously be followed, especially by the judiciary. It is not for judges to make laws; it is for them to observe and rule on the constitutionality of issues before them. Their oaths, taken upon their confirmations, should include the understanding that their failures to follow judicial protocols would end in their termination…

Does Joe Biden Aspire to be America’s Last President?

Does Joe Biden Aspire to be America’s Last President?

Most ominously, no American administration has ever seemed so entirely unconcerned about hemorrhaging political capital. And that lack of concern about voters’ approval can only mean that this administration no longer believes it relies on political capital (the consent of the governed) for power. We can only assume that this Marxist-aligned administration intends to authorize itself with whatever power it requires to achieve its ends…
