“Off with their heads” screeched the Queen of Hearts! And her minions rushed out to act in accordance with her demands. It mattered not to the minions whether those about to lose their heads were guilty of anything, all that mattered is what the Queen of Hearts had dictated. At least that’s how it was portrayed in the classic 1865 book ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, written by Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll.
While Dodgson/Carroll’s story is considered by many in the literary world to be one of the best examples of the ‘literary nonsense genre’, sadly the confirmation process for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has become the modern day parallel to Alice’s story. With Democrat Senators Kirtsen Gillibrand, Diane Feinstein, and Mazie Hirono, and others leading the charge to convict and punish Judge Kavanaugh without the benefit of any real trial, the Democrats’ very own modern day version of “off with his head”!
Much like the weak and pathetic palace court surrounding the Queen of Hearts, the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee’s efforts to maintain some control over the confirmation process has been feeble at best. As a result of Republican impotence we have stepped through the looking glass and into a strange and yes dangerous world.
The Democrat Party’s new strategy appears to be to run roughshod over Republicans until the 2020 election. With the truth, fairness, and decorum tossed out the window. During the Vietnam War – the one Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal never served in – these tactics were called ‘search and destroy missions’. Seek out the enemy, hunt them down, and destroy them.
And let there be no doubt, the Democrats view Republicans and anyone who disagrees with the Democrat socialist agenda as ‘the enemy’. As a Republican politician you’re no longer part of the loyal opposition, and if you hold conservative positions on social issues you’re not even an American citizen. If you don’t adhere to the Democrats’ mantra you are indeed the enemy.
After all, Democrats have called us “deplorables”, the “dregs of society”, and likely many other derogatory names behind closed doors. We “cling to our guns and religion” because we aren’t enlightened enough to understand the socialist agenda that’s been forced upon us for decades. Much of it against our will.
The Brett Kavanaugh process has simply brought to the forefront the vast difference between Americans and the Democrats. Americans believe in the rule of law and revere the United States Constitution. Democrats view the Constitution as a roadblock to the socialist agenda they wish to foist upon this country.
The Democrats, likely led behind the scenes by Barack Obama and his loyal aide Valerie Jarrett, are out to create as much havoc and social unrest as they can. They are looking to undo the 2016 election if possible, or at the least place as many obstacles in front of President Trump as they can to impede his efforts to erase the Obama presidency like a bad dream – actually a nightmare – from America’s collective memory.
Republican lawmakers can’t have a quiet meal at a restaurant with their family without getting attacked by a loud and threatening mob. All orchestrated by the Democrats. Anyone who has the courage to wear a red MAGA hat out in public risks being physically assaulted, or at the least being cursed and denied service.
America in 2018 definitely has taken on the appearance of something out of a very scary fairy tale much like Alice’s world. Republican’s and fair-minded independent voters need to understand what we are up against. Make no mistake about it, no communist regime has ever willingly just given up power. Ever.
And that’s what waits on the other side of the looking glass.
