Time to Take the Keys Away
I begin this show with three very personal stories about older adults who were too old to drive. But their families and society never confronted them about how their aging physical and mental incapacities made them deadly drivers. So instead, they continued to get behind the wheel and put not only themselves in danger, but unfortunately, also set many other citizens at dangerous risk. There comes a time when responsible people must demand the keys and licenses of those who can’t navigate a straight line, pay attention to traffic signs, or see pedestrians in a crosswalk.
We know that mental and physical acuity decline with advancing age. But it isn’t unusual for our elderly to begin suffering from undiagnosed dementia. This disease dramatically complicates one’s driving abilities, and since this disease may develop slowly, its presence only confounds when it’s time to ask for their keys!
These stories serve to highlight our national dilemma and pending crisis as we continue to allow President Joe Biden to drive. No, I don’t mean drive a car. I mean, guide America as our preeminent “Designated Driver.”
Joe Biden should have given up his political license and keys to leadership years ago. Instead, we can all see the radical progressive Left has captured what’s mentally left of an ever-increasingly distracted, grumpy, and often mean aging politician.
I’ve never respected any of Joe Biden’s inauthentic politicking. However, I believe the Joe Biden of 20 years ago would have never given sanction to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to issue Attorney General Merrick Garland’s stunning police state memo of October 4, 2021. This Department of Justice order directed the FBI and a host of other Federal law enforcement agencies to spy and crackdown on the parents of public school children for peacefully protesting their local school board’s Woke policies.
On October 22, 2021, Merrick Garland testified in front of the House of Representatives Judicial Oversight Committee’s hearings regarding his stunning DOJ directive. Yet, distressingly, AG Garland’s answers to pointed questions from Republican House members about his actions against parents were pathetically weak and bordered on outright fabrications.
I review some of the most enlightening exchanges between ranking Republicans on the Judicial Oversight Committee and AG Garland.
If you’re concerned about Joe Biden’s serious mental decline and its destructive effects on your everyday life, if you’re worried about a weaponized Department of Justice, then this episode of The Frankly Daniel Show podcast is a must listen! It’s definitely time to take back the keys to our “Nation’s Car” before we all suffer a devastating crash.
