FDA rethinks its strategy on future COVID vaccines | An FDA advisory panel meeting could start a reset of how the U.S. approaches its COVID-19 vaccine strategy. The agency has sent signs they want to move from the on-the-fly response that’s, at times, left the public confused to an annual vaccination schedule that more closely mirrors flu vaccines.
The outside experts first have to decide whether to go to a single shot that will make a person “fully vaccinated.” They will also consider the process for determining when it makes sense to update the vaccines against emerging variants, per an FDA briefing document.
The big picture: CDC and FDA officials will present an update on the effectiveness and safety of the original and booster versions of the approved COVID vaccines. Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax will also present data on their shots. (Axios)

Carol – Recently, I saw an advertisement posted on Twitter. It was by NY Presbyterian Hospital advertising that they treat myocarditis in children. Firstly, do you know if the commercial is real? Also, can you tell us what is the increase in myocarditis since children started receiving the vax?
Deborah – Are you using hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help with the vax injury and/or covid, long haul or otherwise?
Miguel – I received both vaccines in early April/May 2021. If there are metals or unknown substances, could they still be in my blood a year and a half later? I have been taking for the past year quercetin, D, C, and Zinc. Maybe I’ve been lucky, but no Covid. Just wondering about what is in my blood, or is it gone?
Itzel – Is there a good treatment after Cardiovascular injury for Covid?
Michael – I’m Australian, and unfortunately, I’m Covid vaccinated. My wife and young children are not and will not be. My wife is concerned (very) that any physical interaction I have with her may cause issues with her own personal health. I can not unvaccinate myself and am hopeful you can help me reduce her fears. I received my vaccination over 12 months ago. I love my wife and family, but she is rather obsessive about the issue. Any advice will be much appreciated.
Kaycee – I am unvaccinated and contracted covid in May 2022 from a fully vaccinated individual and have been doing antibody blood tests every 3 months to see what my antibody levels are and if they are waning. The last blood test done at my doctor’s office was 2 days before Thanksgiving, and it showed I had positive nucleocapsid antibodies, but not a distinguishable amount of antibodies to the spike protein. From my research, antibodies to the nucleocapsid protein are only generated from natural infection. My question is: do you feel that I have pretty good protection against reinfection due to these antibodies? I am still battling shortness of breath and exercise intolerance from covid, and am worried about reinfection.
