Virginia Parents ‘Fight for Schools’ Against Woke Indoctrination
Virginia’s Parents did more than open their bedroom windows and shout, “I’m sick and tired of it, and I’m not going to take it anymore!” What might you ask are they sick and tired of? Well, on top of all the negativity showered on Americans by the Biden administration, they’re fed up with what their local, very progressively woke public school boards are doing to their children, in secret and obviously without their permission.
Like what, for instance? Well, let’s start with the $1.8 million Loudoun County, Virginia’s School Board spent on smut books for school libraries and for reading material for kindergarten and first-grade readers. But parents have wised up and teamed up (Parents Defending Education & Fight for Schools) to take on the woke, arbitrary school board decisions around what parents consider dangerous indoctrination of their children.
Indoctrination? Yes, indoctrination in subjects such as Critical Race Theory (CRT), a.k.a., Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Equity Training, along with graphic introductions into issues of sexual orientation and gender identity ideology. Parents are asking why book titles like “Woke Baby,” “Antiracist Baby,” “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish,” and “Mommy, Mama, and Me” are showing up on school library shelves.
Two of the most controversial books found in the Loudoun and Fairfax high school libraries are Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe and Lawn boy by Jonathan Evison. If you’d like to view a YouTube video of a Fairfax County Parent confronting her School Board about these two books, follow this hyperlink: FCSB. But, be forewarned; this material is alarmingly graphic, and most parents will find it quite offensive. These two books are available to youngsters in the 6th and 7th grades.
And yes, Critical Race Theory is being taught in Virginia schools. Fairfax and Loudoun Counties have spent over $9.5 million on CRT materials and instruction between 2020 and 2021.
Nonetheless, watching this short video will give you an excellent look into what parents are against as they challenge woke school boards that display oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) when parents ask for explanations.
Unquestionably, Governor-Elect Glenn Youngkin won because parents of all political parties and racial groups have finally had enough! Enough of being held in contempt by woke school boards, dismissive governors, an arrogant and disconnected President, and criminally biased law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Department of Justice and the FBI.
