Dr. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist and geoscientist, explains that the Sun is a far more significant driver of climate change than assumed by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In 2018, he founded the Center for Environmental Research and Earth Sciences (CERES) to address a wide range of issues without fear or prejudice.

In this program, Dr. Soon describes how 23 scientists from 14 countries came together to jointly author, “How much has the Sun influenced Northern Hemisphere temperature trends? An ongoing debate,” an important paper published in the journal Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics that challenges the IPCC on the issue of solar impacts.

Note: When one attempts to share the Epoch Times article about this important work, Study Finds Sun—Not CO2—May Be Behind Global Warming,” the first screen below appears on your Facebook page. Clicking on “See Why,” gives you the second screen, shown below:

Clicking on “Science Feedback” in the above screen takes readers to the “Climate Feedback” webpage, which attacks the article in the Epoch Times. CERES, the group founded by Dr. Soon, has responded to Climate Feedback with the open letter that can be seen here. CERES’s letter starts:

“We are writing this open letter to you because it has recently come to our attention that your Climate Feedback website has published an article making multiple false or misleading claims about an Epoch Times newspaper article (by Alex Newman) that reported on a new peer-reviewed paper we co-authored. Your website’s “fact-check”/” feedback” also made false or misleading claims about our paper.”

Dr. Soon is an astrophysicist at the Solar, Stellar, and Planetary Sciences Division of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California. Dr. Soon is a leading authority on the relationship between solar phenomena and global climate. His discoveries challenge computer modelers and advocates who consistently underestimate the influence of the Sun on cloud formation, ocean currents, and wind that cause change climate. Dr. Soon has received numerous scientific and other awards, for example, the Courage in Defense of Science Award from the George Marshall Institute.

Join Dr. Soon, Jay, and Tom in this week’s episode of The Other Side of the Story to learn what Facebook and the United Nations don’t want you to know about climate change. Freeman Dyson, one of the most respected figures in the history of science, was certainly justified to say: “The whole point of science is to question accepted dogmas. For that reason, I respect Willie Soon as a good scientist and a courageous citizen.”
