In a hearing on Scientific Integrity at Public Health Agencies on April 29, 2022, Steve Scalise (LA) (ranking member) revealed that the CDC compromised its integrity with the school reopening policy drafting process (historically an independent process) and sought recommendations from a non-scientific political union the American Federation of teachers. Sharing this plan in secret with a politically motivated union with no scientific expertise and allowing them to correct the drafts of this policy that caused harm to millions of school-age children is another example of our federal agencies following ‘the science.’ The problem is that ‘the science’ they purport to follow is a science; they just need to insert ‘political’ prior to the science. They continued to fail to include that important adjective. The adjective changes the things from ‘Hard’ to ‘Soft.’

Hard Sciences implies exactly what the word means, solid, firm, and rigid and not easily broken, bent, or pierced. Soft Sciences like ‘political science’ have qualities that are ‘easy to mold, not hard or firm.’ The CDC was founded on and should continue to demand hard science for advising the citizens, medical professionals, and politicians. In fact, it should be impossible for a hard science agency to ‘inject’ itself into a soft arena, unless its composition is more ‘malleable’ than it appears.

Our guest today is Dr. Amy Hartsfield. She is one of the only doctors in Alabama who has completed over 450 hours of Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. She regularly educates herself on the latest techniques and clinical studies in Dental Sleep Medicine, Orofacial Pain, and headaches. Dr. Hartsfield left general dentistry after 14 years to become a specialist in Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine because she had been a sufferer of migraines, TMJ disorder, and a sleep breathing disorder in the past. After having a hard time finding the answers and proper treatment, she decided to further her education to help people like herself who have a hard time finding the solutions and proper treatment in these areas.

Given her scope of practice, she has unique experience in evaluating and treating people with facial neurological issues that are related to COVID-19 or the COVID-19 vaccine injuries. In addition, to talking to Dr. Hartsfield, we had the pleasure of talking with one of her patients, Cheryl Alverson, and her complications from the COVID-19 vaccine and how Dr. Hartsfield was able to treat her through this injury effectively.

  • Dr. Jordan Vaughn and Dr. Stewart Tankersley

Concerned Doctors is an organization of doctors and healthcare professionals whose greatest desire is to live out their calling by treating the patient in front of them without fear. We are committed to providing information and education, preserving medical freedom for physicians and patients, and protecting the vital doctor-patient relationship. Jordan Vaughn received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama, his medical degree from UAB School of Medicine, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UAB Hospital. He is the son of a local physician Dr. Michael Vaughn, who started MedHelp Urgent Care in 1982, the year Jordan was born. After finishing training, Jordan brought his knowledge of internal medicine to further expand MedHelp Clinics to care for patients in all aspects of outpatient medicine; acute and chronic; body and spirit. Medhelp Clinics now has six locations, sees over 140,000 patients a year, and employs 18 physicians and over 200 healthcare workers. Since the appearance of SARS-CoV2, as owner and CEO, Jordan pushed his organization to be on the leading edge of properly delivering early outpatient treatment for his patients and the Birmingham community for COVID-19. Dr. Tankersley is a fourth-generation physician serving the citizens of the Montgomery area. After graduating from Auburn University with a major in History, he enlisted in the Army before medical school at UAB. He then completed two years of OB/GYN training before he and his wife spent a year training as Christian missionaries. After this brief hiatus, he returned to Montgomery and completed a residency in Family Medicine in 2002. Since then, he has enjoyed providing care locally with the exception of three deployments in the United States Army's Medical Corp during the War On Terror. He received awards for each of his deployments. He has recently retired as a Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard. Dr. Tankersley served nine years on the Montgomery County Medical Society board, where he was honored to serve as President in 2010. In 2012 Governor Robert Bentley appointed Dr. Tankersley to serve a five-year term on the Alabama Ethics Commission. In Oct 20, Dr. Tankersley was appointed by Gov Kay Ivey to be part of the COVID vaccine task force.
