What is the President’s most important function? Allow me to share what I think a President must perform, at a bare minimum, to be considered a competent Chief Executive of a nation of 336 million Americans.
First, the President must keep Americans safe while ensuring a broad sense of national security from foreign actors. Second, the President must protect and safeguard the sovereignty of the nation. Clear and enforced borders are an essential element of that sovereignty. As President Ronald Reagan said, “A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.” Sovereignty is the very essence of “nationhood.”
Joe Biden has failed the American people on both requirements of Presidential leadership. First, he has been unable to keep the nation safe from the Mexican Cartels, alien criminals, and the flood of deadly, illicit drugs entering the country. Under the Biden administration, the southern border is wide open to nearly all comers, including terrorists who wish to do harm to Americans.
Moreover, most recently, Joe Biden allowed America’s sovereignty, safety, and security to be flagrantly challenged by China as one of their surveillance balloons entered American air space over Alaska. Eventually, this Chinese Spycraft traveled across part of Canada and entered American air space again over Idaho. From there, the balloon traveled over Montana and transversed America’s heartland, gathering intelligence over our most sensitive military installations. It finally left South Carolina for the Atlantic Ocean and was eventually ordered shot down eight miles offshore from South Carolina.
Never has any adversarial nation entered air space over our continental states and openly surveilled our defenses only to exit their spy mission after five days over America as if nothing was particularly wrong or ill-mannered. While the Biden administration claims they were aware of the balloon from the very moment it left China, our officials appeared paralyzed to do anything about this hostile incursion until the balloon completed its intelligence gathering and likely transmitted its purloined information back to China.
The Biden administration has failed to keep our nation safe, secure, and sovereign. Instead, our national security and sovereignty have gone to the devil under Joe Biden. Join me as I discuss this intelligence failure and Joe Biden’s inability to act decisively.
