Do you have a teenage daughter or a teenage granddaughter? Perhaps your neighbors, your friends, or other family members have high school-aged girls and boys. Trust me, someone you know is dealing with Transgenderism in their family, or they have a friend who’s experiencing it.
Female adolescents attempting to change their gender with sex hormones and surgeries raise significant concerns for parents and high schools across the nation. Woke States and District Public School Boards are passing special policies geared at unusual, so-called civil rights protections for transgendered youth. And in doing so, they’re endorsing a heretofore invisible, non-existent malady.
The Biden administration is pushing Executive Orders and Congressional legislation (The Equity Act) to solidify the rights of children as young as ten years of age to make their own gender decisions devoid of parental involvement.
Why now? Because an increasing number of female adolescents are turning to Transgenderism as a self-diagnosed solution to a psycho-social problem called gender dysphoria GD). This is happening among teen boys as well, but female transitions are dominate.
Gender dysphoria is a mental health psycho-pathology. It’s become a high school craze across the country. It’s also on the rampage in the United Kingdom, Finland, Norway, and other Scandinavian nations! Surely you’ve heard about teen girls and boys dressing up as the opposite sex, including additional adornments like rainbow-colored dyed hair and various body piercings. This is more than just counter-culture acting out.
According to the American Psychiatric Association (APA), “Gender Dysphoria” (GD) is a psycho-pathological disease. It arises when a person senses a mismatch, incongruence, or misalignment between their current gender identity and birth-assigned gender. In short, Gender Dysphoria is your mind telling you that somehow, your genes got cross-wired and put the real you in the wrong biologic sex.
In the case of high school girls, they’ve mysteriously come to believe they’re boys trapped in girl’s bodies. Somehow, their minds waited until they were about to enter puberty, or it waited until they were mid-stream into puberty before alarming them they were living a fraudulent gendered life. The rapidity of this condition has led health services researchers to call this apparent social contagion “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD).
Prior to 2012, GD was extremely rare among girls at any age. Among very young boys aged 2-to-4 years, only 1-in-10,000 experienced some form of gender confusion. On the other hand, even fewer girls aged 2-to-4 years (1-in-30,000) experienced the same opposite gender confusion.
But somehow after 2012, GD began to show up among teens and mostly among girls. In fact, the occurrence of GD totally flipped from being an exclusively young boy gender issue to an overwhelming female adolescent problem.
In approximately nine years since 2012, reported cases of GD among adolescent girls are up by 5,000 percent, and it’s not slowing down. If you’re only now hearing about this apparent social contagion, it’s likely because the ideologically-driven L.G.B.T.Q gender activist community won’t allow any rational discussion or questioning about this phenomenon to come to the public square for discussion. They don’t believe GD is a disease. In the past, the APA listed being Gay as a psycho-pathology, which it is not.
As the number of girls undergoing gender transition increases, so do the numbers of those trying to “de-transition” and return to their original female status. Unfortunately, some of the treatments they’ve taken to make their gender transition to males are not easily reversible or reversible at all.
And as for the role of parents, would you be surprised to know the Progressive Left is pushing hard to push parents completely out of the decision process and the outcome?
