While many people say, “What you don’t know can’t hurt you.” I contend that what you know that just ain’t so is what really bites you in the butt. I know there are English majors across the county yelling at me right now, but let’s put aside the bad grammar for a moment and consider if the sentiment is true.
I am frequently challenged by people who know something to be true but can provide no proof. Sometimes it’s a minor disagreement; others, it is a fundamental misunderstanding that leads to devastating circumstances.
How can we know if what we know is true or not? How can we test what others tell us to see if it is true? What are the consequences of not only living a life based on incorrect information but of running a country that way?
