What is a fact? Merriam-Webster defines fact as “something that truly exists or happens: something that has actual existence.” What happens when facts are no longer based on what truly exists or occurs and become an opinion or something to achieve a goal? In recent court filings, Meta admitted that the Facebook Fact-Checking system is a “protected opinion.” How many people trust Facebook to check the facts for them? For that matter, how many are trusting government bureaucrats to check their facts. Only in the crucible of free speech can we weed out what is an opinion and what is a fact. Unless you are willing to admit you may be wrong and listen to the other side, truth, justice, and ultimately the American way disappears.
