Yes, that’s a rhetorical question, I know, but I thought we already had a party leader In Donald Trump. Alas, the Elite Republican class doesn’t think so, even to the point of willingly dividing the party. The driving force of the Anti-Trump Republicans is Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, number three in the GOP’s House leadership. She wields influence only because her father was a popular VP under George W. Bush, and therefore the Cheney name should prevail in the Halls of Congress after her father retired from the field. Dick Cheney wasn’t beloved by the Left’s elite political establishment, just tolerated but, he was the most powerful vice president ever.

Liz had strong conservative credentials at first, but at some point, she fell in with the usual suspects, the DC swamp dwellers, those wanting to hold America’s political leadership in their corrupt hands. She was horrified when that uncouth Donald Trump won the presidency for the GOP and she hasn’t been normal since.

Now, push comes to shove for the GOP’s professional class. They’re having an internal hemorrhage over the question of who will lead the party over the cliff. The professionals want to pretend that Donald Trump doesn’t exist, has never really existed, and is just a figment of our imagination. A fat chance of that. It’s like that hypothetical question: “If a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it, did it make a noise?” They think If they don’t mention him, he’ll simply go away. But, there he is, lurking in his Mar-a-Lago compound planning his return, and Liz Cheney can’t stop him. She’s willing to sacrifice her leadership position in the GOP caucus over her hatred for President Trump and, so adamant is she that Trump does not represent Conservative Republicans, she’s willing to fall on her sword. Good for her! Maybe she will join Mitt Romney and have a paragraph about her in the next issue of “Profiles in Courage?”

The 2021 closed-door GOP conference will soon gather, and Liz is being challenged for Conference Chairman (woman) by an upstart from New York who isn’t an anti-Trump wonk! The Chair of the GOP Conference has the power to lead the Party in selecting a preferred presidential candidate, and Liz will not entertain any idea of Trump making a comeback. And there, the problem lies because Trump is the elephant in the room. He hints he’s going to run again, while all evidence suggests he is already making preparations to do just that. The party has several outstanding candidates who will run if Trump does not. Several are Senators, and here I’ll repeat myself, Senators make crappy presidents lacking the experience of holding administrative positions, making budgets and payrolls like Governors do.

To the Left-wing Washington Post, Rep Cheney correctly declared the party was at a turning point.

Cheney said: “We Republicans need to stand for genuinely conservative principles and steer away from the dangerous and anti-democratic Trump cult of personality.” Except under Trump, when was the last time the GOP even considered genuine conservative principles? When she say’s “steer away from the dangerous and anti-democratic…,” she is echoing the Left’s talking points that lead to socialism.

She abhorred Trump’s cult of personality, but his personality didn’t catch on until he started reversing Obama’s socialist policies, restoring America’s economy, raising its employment numbers, rebuilding our military, closing Obama’s open borders, and a myriad of other promises he made and kept. That’s why the Republican base loves him, and they don’t. A cult of personality is made by the doers, promise keepers, and successful businessmen who know and understand how money works to corrupt politicians like the Biden family and how money, when applied genuinely, works to provide an economic base for all Americans to grow from.

The base is sick and damn tired of being hustled by cheap politicians who, if they don’t lie outright, shave the truth to hide the disasters they create. I look for honesty. Trump has it!

Remember, freedom is the goal; the Constitution is the way; now go get ’em!
