I’m sure we’re all familiar with the story of Midas. The king who turned everything he touched into gold, which then ruined his life. We have something similar in America today. Well, by similar, I mean the exact opposite. It seems just about everything government touches, it ruins. But why is that so? The most logical reason is that we keep asking government to do things it was never designed to do. If that is true, then the first step in cleaning up the federal government’s mess is to stop asking them to do things they are not only not designed to do but legally prohibited from doing.
