The team of speechwriters who wrote Joe Biden’s State of the Union address were clearly instructed to avoid three subjects. They weren’t even the most controversial topics; his declaration that we must “fund the police” was the bombshell departure from leftism that drew the most attention.
What he didn’t say was telling. There were three important topics that most expected him to cover at some point in the night, but he didn’t mention them at all. They were conspicuous in their absence and were only omitted for election reasons.
In the latest episode of the JD Rucker Political Report on America Out Loud Talk Radio, I covered these based on an article I wrote on my Substack. They were:
> Racism: Democrats learned the lesson during the 2021 Virginia election that playing the race card all the time will drive away voters. Their culture war is still important to them, and Biden mentioned several social justice issues like LGBTQ rights and climate change, but nothing about racism.
> Mandates: This was another omission based on trying to separate Democrat candidates in an election year from a topic that is growing increasingly unpopular. There was a time not too long ago when a majority of the country agreed with vaccine mandates, but those days are gone. Most want mandates gone and all restrictions lifted, so Biden played along with his SOTU speech to lay the foundation for Democrat candidates.
> January 6: This is the omission that wasn’t as much about the 2022 election as it was about the 2024 election. Democrats want to prevent Donald Trump from being able to run in 2024, and they believe January 6 is their silver bullet. Biden has to avoid it or it will appear that he was attempting to suppress his likely opponent, should both decide to run for president again.
In the second segment, I get a little conspiratorial in discussing Biden’s promise to have a new vaccine ready to “deploy” in 100 days should a new and scary variant emerge. What does he know? Why would he make such a promise? Is this The Great Reset’s next phase? Unfortunately, we’ll soon find out.

JD. He did mention January 6 when he said Trump supporters murdered 5 capitol hill police. I guess he wanted to “drive it home” in one feld swoop!
