Whynot? The final chapter is just that! It’s part two of a two-part story about a fictional but very traditional American Family; A father, a mother, three children, ages 6, 11, and 14, and their family dog.
In our story, Dad, Mr. Ted Goodsmith, just received a promotion to be the general manager of a new plant in “Whynot.” The dilemma is not only that Whynot is hundreds of miles from where the Goodsmiths currently live, but “Whynot” happens to be a very Woke liberal city in a very Woke liberal state.
Why might you ask is this a problem. Well, the Goodsmiths are long-time conservatives who have lived in a very Red, or Republican city and state their entire lives. Moving to a Blue on Blue city and state has several disturbing surprises in store for the Goodsmiths.
The final chapter continues as Mia Goodsmith, the family mother in our story, travels to “Whynot” and meets with several people, including a teacher in the “Whynot” School System.
Shock and distressing awe abound as Mia learns about the Woke machinations of the “Whynot” School Board and what “Whynot” parents are up against.
Mia also learns from a “Whynot” police officer that law enforcement has been turned on its head in “Whynot” by Woke District Attorneys and the City Council.
Mia now has to return to Normalville, where her family is currently living, to update her husband on her “Whynot” excursion.
The lingering question remains. What will Mia and the Goodsmiths’ do? Since Mia is the one who guides their children’s schooling, what does she think they should do? Will they take their chances and move to “Whynot.” Or will they stay where they are and count their blessings?
I invite you to take a fictional journey with Mia, the Goodsmiths, and me as we all ponder a family’s life choices.
