On Feb 9 and 16, the House and Senate both unanimously passed the resolution condemning the incursion of CCP’s spy balloon and the violation of US sovereignty. However, the statement issued by China’s parliament – National People’s Congress – insisted that it was a civilian weather research airship that accidentally entered the United States airspace.

Therefore, CCP accused the US of violating international law and being anti-China, which would lead to escalation. Not surprisingly, CCP brazenly disguised itself as a victim and turned the crisis upside-down, as what happened in the origin of COVID-19. Such a response is known as a main element of unrestricted tactics, fulfilling Xi Jinping’s bottom-line thinking.

What is Xi’s bottom-line thinking?

It’s a primary principle that requires CCP members to prepare the worst situation for the best political outcome serving Xi’s China dream. In the circumstances of an authoritarian communist regime, the worst situation usually costs a lot of lives, including their own citizens. When Xi emphasizes the breakthrough of the bottom line, it means humanity can’t pose restrictions in CCP’s proposals.

Instead, to achieve the goals better, the violation of humanity is advocated. According to CCP’s documents, it is a relatively independent mindset promoted by Xi, while the universality of the thinking significantly contributes to the development of Marxism.

The extremely harsh zero-COVID policy in China demonstrates Xi’s bottom-line thinking. During the lockdowns, Chinese citizens were locked at home with insufficient food and medical supply. Even in the metropolitans like Shanghai, people were isolated to die of hunger or diseases while helplessly at home. Digital control and other countermeasures did nothing beneficial to people, but hurt them seriously. However, any complaint or fight would be regarded as destabilization and punished. The cost of lives enhanced Xi’s power in China. Therefore, recently, CCP claimed to achieve a decisive victory in anti-COVID under the command of Xi Jinping.

Another example is the propaganda of the spirit of Lake Changjin. It is based on the battle of Lake Changjin in the Korean War in Nov of 1950, in which CCP sacrificed over 50K soldiers in the freezing cold days, and the UN command lost 18K soldiers. The battle changed the situation of the war and prolonged it with hundreds of thousands of death. In Xi’s view, the advantages of massive deaths outweighed the disadvantages, and this spirit could deepen the understanding of bottom-line thinking.

Opposite to western civilization, disrespect for life and law is considered as superiority in Xi’s regime against democratic countries. For example, in an article published on a top influential CCP-controlled media in Aug last year, says that the bottom line between China and America is the nuclear war, and the People’s Liberation Army will eliminate all 300 plus million Americans at that time (https://www.163.com/dy/article/HF7QFSOQ0535T11U.html).
